I love Calabria!! From the people that work there to the amazing food, it is a must try place. The Panzerotti is amazing and made to order. Have a rice ball and you will crave them for life. A great family run restaurant.

Stayed away from Calabria Bakery in Scarborough for several years due to POOR SERVICE. Decided to give it a whirl today, but NOTHING has changed. Waited in deli area to order cold meats and cheese - no service available. Could not even find a bag for buns. Moved to hot food and dessert area, where I realized I must be... More

The bad think first: they only make pizza for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays. The good thing: you can pick a pizza from the menu or create one yourself, Pizza is delicious, fresh and multiple topping you can chose from, it smell great and it tastes even better. thin crust and wood burning oven, therefore your pizza wont take more... I dropped by one friday afternoon and they had food at the hot table. I bought some pasta and meatballs and ordered a pizza to go. They have a wood fired oven to the back of the hot table. You can either choose one of their pizza's or pick your own ingredients. He prepared the pizza and put in the... More

I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Seriously. I've never had meatballs like this before, ever. Absolutely fantastic! Now, I have to say, when I first walked in the door on my first visit, I was a bit put off by the smell, because something was burning. Also, like many places where I have found some of the... More

Calabria Bakery is easily something you could pass by on Midland Avenue your whole life and never know of it's existence. The place is wonderful. On Thursday and Friday they have amazing wood-oven pizza made fresh right in front of you, you can watch the whole process. It's fantastic and an amazing value for the quality you get; one of... Friendly service, and great fast food alternative to any other restaurent for miles. The hot table stocks the old faithful elements of italian food (salad, pasta, veal, potatos, plus a few suprises) There is also a wood burning pizza station that runs only a few days a week. On top of this there is also a full service bake shop... More

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
