I hosted my ladies at book club and I served your tongue and it was a huge hit. Everyone loved it. Coming back for more. Best tongue in town.

If you think sandwiches are simple and ordinary you clearly haven’t been to Famo. Family run by owners Shab and Babak this place is delicious. Babak has been a chef in all sorts of great places and knows his way around a kitchen. The space...is beautiful, fun and in and old Victorian building which he has respectfully kept and then added his own cool touches. What I love is each sandwich and there are lots are very clean in the eating. Lots of broths and sauces are used to moisten them and each is so different from the next. Fries are killer, lots of great beers and a daily soup make this a must. Eat in or take out. It’s all mega yum. Please follow @joannasable on instagram for more food and travel.More

Really good sandwich shop. Try the Brit! The other people in my group had the pulled pork and the beef tongue.

Stumbled across FAMO today. What a joy. Epic sandwich and so good I'm actually sat at the table writing this as I'm moved to insist other people discover it. Delicious. Fresh. Inventive. Well done.

This place is close to our new home in Toronto - we passed it several times in the car and so I walked down and had a take out last week. It was certainly a great sandwich - I also had the East Ender but...boy was it messy to eat with your hands. The fennel salad was great. It's a great concept but seems slightly at odds with the purpose of a sandwich which seems to be largely something that you can easily eat at your desk without getting messy. While I was waiting for my takeout the single customer eating in finished and complimented the staff on the best sandwich he'd ever had and the bar by which all sandwiches should be judged - so I think you can pretty much be certain this is going to be a great lunch. I do hope it succeeds and I'd definitely return.More

While in Roma, I visited a 'sandwich shop' called Mordi e Vai, daring myself to go beyond my comfort zone having a sandwich with only two ingredients, beef tongue and Italian green 'salsa'... Amazing. After hearing about this place, I decided to go and give...'the six' a shot (beef tongue, truffle mayo, arugula, & red onion), a little more involved than in Italy, but in no way disappointing... Excellent!More

FAMO (a mash up of the last names of the two owners - Shabnam Moier and her husband, chef Babak Fahmi) serves up some of the most creative - and best tasting - sandwiches you'll find in Toronto. Open since last November, the wonderfully renovated...spot on Sherbourne just south of Queen has beautiful wooden high tables, exposed brick walls and creative lighting. I tried the East Ender sandwich - slow braised pulled chicken breast with a spicy mango slaw and served on a crispy baguette. It was excellent and together with the side (your choice of FAMO fires, the soup of the day or one of three house-made slaws) was more than enough for lunch. FAMO offers up ten sandwiches in total so you're bound to find something you like. FAMO also serves up wine or beer to enjoy with your sandwich. Prices run $11 to $13 per sandwich and this does include your choice of a side.More
