We have been visiting this unique gem a few times and always enjoyed; wonderful authentic , fresh dishes in homelike environment, located at Yonge & Eglinton, staff is friendly and ready to explore with you their new menu each time. Highly recommended. Make sure to reserve your place ahead.

This was my second visit to Zezafoun and again, it was an excellent experience. As expected the hummus was great, and then the Kabab Karaz was delicious. This is a dish with beef, cherries and a cherry sauce. New to me, and just great! The family who run the restaurant are very friendly, and they were so kind to give me a nice, sweet bread which they traditionally eat for Christmas. A good reminder how multi-cultural Syria is.

Very impressed with a first visit to Zezafoun. A hidden gem in Midtown Toronto. We went for brunch as a family ; stuff was very welcoming, service was fast. Thoughtful details distinguished each dish we sampled - variety of flavors, textures, the best of Syrian cuisine. Everything was enjoyable, satisfying and surprising. Drinks were also amazing with a unique middle eastern twist. Will definitely return, highly recommended!

Zezafoun has enlarged its patio, which is excellent news. On a warm summer evening there were no empty seats. The food is good as usual: I really enjoyed the karaz kabab, in which pieces of beef are stewed with cherries and a variety of condiments. Our party shared several tasty appetizers. We did have to wait several minutes for our check, but the staff did seem to be a bit overworked. Recommended!

We had a very enjoyable brunch here with two friends who had not been here before and really liked it. I had the Syrian omelet, which was very tasty, and shared several small dessert items with the other members of our party. A disturbing note: there were very few other customers, probably as a result of the Covid-19 scare. If this is typical of other places, it bodes ill for the restaurants of Toronto, and since they often operate on very tight profit margins, we hope that they will receive financial assistance during this difficult period.

Six months ago I wrote a review wondering how Zezafoun would fare as the Covid-19 menace was spreading. Two days later the shutdown was imposed. We were there last night to pick up a takeout meal, and we got the impression that the restaurant was managing to cope. There is a patio people can use, and a few tables are available inside. I hope this and takeout/delivery will be enough to carry Zezafoun through the cold months. Our meals were fine: I had the lentil soup, a salad, and the kebab plate. Very tasty.

We had a great experience! The food was delicious! We had the kebbeh, the falafel and the kebbeh lebanyeh. The plates are good for one people but a good size.

The place is so full on a weekend ! We had no idea that they charge a minimum amount of 30 dollars a person on a weekend . However , since we are not big eaters and they hadn’t told us before , they didn’t charge us as per that rule . Nice of them . We had Chicken molakkia, chicken shawarma, and our dessert choice was Moms Hariseh, all delicious! The Arak wine cocktail has a very strong flavour of Annie seeds and is sweet too so choose accordingly.

This is the most authentic Syrian food in Toronto! Everything that everyone else have praised about this place is true! Soul-warming and heart-fulfilling home cooked food. When I gave compliments to the owner and her chef mother, I was told that Syrians who eat here would cry after eating as the food reminded them of their own home and mothers. Dramatic but true too. Their daily specials come in a good sized plate, mixes of meat, vegetables and salad. I wish I had the stomach to eat all the desserts - so good! I strongly recommend that they should offer a dessert platter so that customers can have a taste of every choice. Great selection of vegan and vegetarian options too! The wraps are so reasonably priced - $4-$9 only! Will probably be back for their music night which I hear is immensely popular and often sold out.

I was very lucky to find this place. The food is so delicious and tasty, you can feel that it was prepared with love, seriously. First time I ordered the ouzi, it was out of this world! I came back again and had fatteh and molokia, and it was just perfect... It is true homestyle food. The ambiance and service and the restaurant itself feels like home, to anyone. The owner is beautiful inside out, very welcoming, personal and makes you feel like family, not customers. I recommend this place a 100 times if you are into quality yummy food and culture!

Zezafoun is my new favourite restaurant in Toronto for casual dining. I’ve had lunch and dinner there and each time the food was flavourful and the service friendly. I know hummus is commonplace now, but theirs is delicious! Lots of options for vegans.
