I was extremely disappointed with Sofia's dinner service on Saturday, Nov 21st. Things had been going pretty well, but our server moved one of the two (2) heaters before even requesting the bill - our section had 5 tables - right next to one of...the tables. It was a pyramid-style heater that offers a lot of heat. The couple asked for heater 1 to be move closer to them. This came across as special treatment because the gentleman at that table appeared to be a regular by how staff and management were treating him, and he was spending lots of money again tonight. When I noticed the server moved heater #1, I immediately ask him to move it back since I now had zero heat and was cold. He offered to move heater #2, which was further away, closer to me (not a pyramid-style heater, didn't give off much heat). When I asked him why he couldn't move heater #1 back, he apologized and said the other table was getting a draft. But now I'm cold. And that's ok? The server's attitude changed when I asked for the bill - bordering on sarcastic and flippant. I asked to speak with the manager, and his response, "Well, we have a lot of managers, they're all around..." eventually confirming he'd get one was an odd response. Responding, "Certainly, just a moment," would have sufficed rather than making it sound like managers had little time for my concern (we had just spent $200 on dinner). After a long while, a manager appeared, and she apologized, saying they were short of heaters after brunch. She said she would speak with her staff then offered to move heater #2 closer. I said no point since we were leaving, having just paid the bill. The way of how your staff and management handled this situation was offensive and should not have happened. Blatant preferential treatment is not ok, but how your staff treated me after I spoke up was glaringly disrespectful. I recommend you steer clear of this establishment and support other restaurants with less ego, better-trained staff and equally value all of their guests. Ps: The food here is pretty mediocre anyway.More

Had an amazing date night with my wife on Sunday evening. A very classy nice restaurant with a warm welcoming experience followed by an excellent service by a lovely young lady named Heather. Going above and beyond my expectations with a lot of attention to...detail. Overall excellent night and will recommend.More

Brunch during Covid. What a great find and fantastic experience all around. We are sick of Uber eats and mediocre restaurant experiences. Sofia and staff are shining examples that all is not lost. The food, the ambiance, the staff, the heated patio....all great. Highly recommended!!!!

Patio was a great place to dine for a romantic dinner. Food was excellent (branzino was perfectly cooked) and the scallop api was worth ordering as a main!!! Gorgeous restaurant worthy of top marks.

I haven’t posted any reviews in awhile but this place was so disappointing that I felt compelled to search for my tripadvisor log in info. In all fairness, a very hip vibe great decor and ambiance. Went in a Friday night for dinner. Service wasn’t...at all what I expect at a restaurant with those prices—in Yorkville at that. Hostess was great and super attentive but sadly thats where it ended. There were four of us there to celebrate a birthday. We decided to order a bunch of dishes and share. We ordered the oysters, octopus, beef carpaccio and fritto misto (deep fried calamari, shrimp and lobster). All were delicious. My only complaint was the lemon aioli. It left a horrible taste in my mouth—tasted like eggs. For our entrees we ordered the half chicken (33 dollars) the porterhouse special (175 dollars) and the snapper special (100 dollars) with cauliflower, potatoes, and mushrooms. The chicken ($33) was very underwhelming. The snapper was delicious but not at all worth the 100 dollar price tag. Our biggest disappointment was the steak. First we ordered it medium rare, it came out closer to done. Very little pink in any of the cuts. Second it was covered in bbq sauce. If you like a bbq sauce on your steak I would recommend Applebees. When we brought this to the attention of our server her response was ‘I’m sorry about that. What would you like for me to do’. I responded with ‘make it right’. The less than half eaten steak sat on the table for at least 15 minutes. The moment they cleared the table (removed the evidence) the manager came to check in regarding our complaint. He apologized and left without us ever seeing him again. He sent us a complimentary dessert and removed 51 dollars (steak was $175) off the bill. The dessert was brought to the table without anyone telling us it was complementary or as a compensation for the steak blunder. We saw it was on the house upon analyzing the bill. Save your money and frustration and go elsewhere as there are far better places in yorkville where the food is done right and the service is outstanding—casa moto, stk, joso’s. Sofia left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be returning and highly recommend that you don’t either.More

Haute Cuisine at its best, and the bar action with all the Beautiful People is the place to hang on a weekend night.

Beautiful place to have brunch at and the food was delicious. We had the truffle wild mushroom pizza, smoked salmon, avocado toast with egg and Balenie‘s bottomless!

Way overpriced for what you get. Menu is just a bunch of names with no quality or taste! But extremely pricey!!! Atmosphere is nice, staff are good but keep charging you for wrong items!! And .... nice to go for couple of drink and appetizer...but not for a dinner! Waste of money!More

Great spot to bring a date for a sophisticated and fun experience. Decor and layout is beautiful and vibe is old school era meets modern day.
