Both my wife and I had a great meal at this location. The price was a little high but we both agreed it was worth it. The naan bread was excellent. We will be back.

We live in Chicago currently and visited Toronto for our daughter's spring break. We had asked the concierge at Shangri-La for a recommendation and this was it. I was a little wary that the menu didn't have pages of choices, but once we had our first taste we were blown away. The butter chicken, cauliflower and dal were so tasty... More

Gave Host a shot because we were staying at the Residence Inn next door. Reserved a table at the last minute. Arrived at the restaurant and were waved toward the upstairs, where we grabbed a two-seater. The upstairs is gloomy and nondescript; downstairs is the better choice. Service was a little inattentive, although our server did recommend a decent wine... More

This is a great little spot in downtown Toronto. The food was excellent, and the staff were nice enough to prevent from ordering way too much food for the two of us.

This place is a little oddly set up with multiple levels, but we landed on the top floor and had it to ourselves. Our group of 7 enjoyed all our dishes and appetizers. Like most Indian places, the vegetarian menu was extensive and delicious looking. I love meat, but couldnt pass up the chana pindi. The tikka masala was YUM!... More

We were staying at the hotel right next door. I'm glad I didn't allow some of the negative reviews to sway my decision to eat here. We have nothing but positives to say about our dining experience. Service was top-notch and the food was amazing. We had pakora, rack of lamb, butter chicken, chicken tikaa, garlic nan, and saffron rice... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by an Indian coworker and his family, and it really lives up to its reputation. The menu isn't as extensive as your usual Indian restaurant, but all the dishes we tasted had clearly been polished to perfection. Curries, kebabs, cheese, breads, all excellent. The service and timing were all very good as well, but... More

I dine here often as it is conveniently located close top my hotel. Everything is done right from the expert spicing of the dishes to the freshness of the nan and generous portions. The choice of available drinks prevents me from awarding them a full 5 marks. Nevertheless, the service is excellent and I am always looking forward to the... More

As a man away from his family on business for a month or so at a time, I love this place. The food is first class, good portions, and the service impeccable. I'm pissed off because I've lived opposite this place for almost six months and have only discovered it two days before I fly home.

Food was exceptional. Second time we have ate at Host both times amazing food. Only problem last night was with our waiter. He was at best, breathing. He was anywhere else but doing his job. I guess he did not want to be there and it showed. This was unfortunate because the kitchen crew got there game together and deserve... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
