Instead of going to the OTHER chicken CHALET, we gave our business to this local business. Even with the rapid transit construction causing routing havoc, this Portuguese chicken place is serving roasted & grilled chicken. Their chicken can be a bit dry, but the sauce...helps that out. The custards have a crisp & flakey texture! They deserve your patronage, especially during this health event.More

We haven't been there for some time. When we did return, we discovered that they are now only open 4 days a week because of the endless construction on Eglinton. Even though it took a little longer to get there, it was worth it. The...food is very good and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended. Just don't go there during rush hour.More

We have driven by this place and had people tell us how amazing this place was, so we decided to try. I married into this culture and have been to Portugal many times so I know how the food is suppose to taste like. Upon...entering I did not realize this was more of a take out place than a restaurant. I was wondering why they did not give me any menu or ask me what I'd like to drink. After sitting there for 10 mins like an idiot, the owner told me I had to order then they make the food. We ordered a lot of food. The appetizers were good. We also ordered the family dinner which comes with the chicken and all the fixings. The food is okay, I'd prefer the ones from College St. The sauce is not as good as some of the other places I have been to. There is no Portuguese restaurants east of the Don Valley so I guess this would be the go to place. Having said that I like to be served and not have to get my food, I would pay the extra price for service. I guess thats just me, but if your looking for inexpensive chicken this may be the place for you.More

We celebrated a family birthday. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was quiet, so that we could all enjoy each other's company.

We saw this place from the road and were intrigued with the sign, ‘a taste of Portugal’. We expected a more formal ethnic restaurant, however this place is very casual. You walk up to the counter and order from a small menu. It is more...cafeteria style with a cart to pick up cutlery, sauces, etc. We tried 2 of the sandwiches which were very tasty. This would be a good place to pick up a take out lunch or stop in for a quick meal.More

Exactly what the Dr ordered, friendly service and great food. Homemade Piri Piri sauce is fantastic on the grilled chicken, and try the sausages to get your appetite going!

So after hearing good things about this place I decided to try it out, I can honestly walk away saying it was ok, not likely that I'm going back anytime soon but one day I might try again to see if I have a different...opinion, I ordered the piri piri half chicken the piri was barely noticeable in the first 2 pieces third one a little more which was welcomed nice flavour, chicken was moist though not dried out although I noticed closer to the bone slightly undercooked, rice and veg and potatoes were very bland something was definitely missing. Service was grest though very nice people in there.More

It's just like visiting extended family for a meal. Friendly people serving real, home made fresh food. The chicken is just perfect and the sides (I usually just have a salad) are nice and fresh.
