I love off-the-beaten-path "joints". This is definitely that and sits on water - big bonus in my book too. I wish I could say my salad was beyond but it simply wasn't. I love a good beet salad but it baffles me that any chef...would pair pickled beets with a raspberry vinagrette. Just a tart, over the top, vinegar mess really. I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew the beets were pickled. Didn't say this in the menu. Big negative for me that there was no indication of pickling. And my salad was also missing the bacon too. I tried to round out the tartness of the salad by asking for some blue cheese dressing which I will say was surprisingly quite smooth and tasteful. Saved the salad somewhat but still... Both the Manager and our waitress were attentive and charming - two huge pluses for me - and for this reason, I'll go back. After all, the menu has about a gazillion items so I know something will become my fave soon. Oh yeah and the free ample parking is fabulous!More

This place is a wonderful and welcome addition to the Toronto pub scene. It's in a gritty part of town, which gives it atmosphere, but has a lovely flower-filled deck with views across the channel, which gives it ambience. A very pleasant place to while...away a relaxing summer lunch. Food was good; service was excellent: friendly, knowledgable and prompt.More

We went here for lunch and were very pleased. I had the steak sandwich and it was great - the steak was very tender. The patio was great and they are pet-friendly. It's a very convenient location with a large parking lot. This place was...referred to us and we were glad we tried it. The service was good and the prices are very reasonable.More

This is a find, right on a channel of water complete with ducks, a large flowered patio with umbrellas on picnic tables, great staff and fabulous food.. During Stage 3 it was reassuring to see all the safety steps taken. Easy to reach by car...or bike (my choice), a hidden gem for a summer lunch. Get there while you can!More

Was there this evening for dinner with three friends. It is my second visit there and both experiences were excellent. Had the fish and chips earlier this year in the winter and had the pleasure of sitting on their patio this evening which is right...by the water. Very out of the way and actually kind of felt like we were in small town Ontario. A nice ambience. Service was great and pleasant. Everyone enjoyed their food. Great portions and quality and value for your money. I had the prime rib dinner and you can get 8, 10, or 12 oz, I ordered the 8 and swear it was closer to the 10 or 12. Also fresh vegetables and real mashed potatoes. Highly recommend it. Had the caramel crunch cake for dessert and shared, generous portion. They also make a wicked Caesar.More

This is an out of the way location with a large patio right on the water. Plenty of free parking and an extensive menu. I had the chicken and shrimp with white wine patio sauce served with fresh veggies and rice. It was very tasty....My husband had the Cajun salmon which he thoroughly enjoyed. Fajitas and chicken pot pie were also had but the other members of the party and there were no complaints. We shared a bottle of the Chilean Sauvignon Blanc which was quite good as well. Service was very friendly and prompt. Nice to get out again!More

I come by here quite often these days to and from the Spit, and it's in an unusual location off the beaten path--as the name indicates, on a tiny forgotten industrial channel near Cherry Beach. But that said, it has its advantages, especially during a...pandemic. It's not crowded and the staff are very nice. There are also plenty of picnic tables and a large umbrella at very one. The food is solid pub fare and I've become quite fond of the Archibald ale from Quebec - it's a winner. It also seems seems to be gaining in popularity as it was full this weekend and a horde of cyclists were there.More

Having visited a few hostelries in Toronto this was a little gem. Not much to look at from the outside but once you open the doors you felt very much at home. Food and service was excellent. Barman very chatty and helpful and waitress Emily...cheerful and welcoming. Oh the Guinness was good too.More

Stopped here on a sunny hot afternoon while out sketching and cycling in search of a tall cool draft craft beer. Alas, although there’s super nice staff and the food is OK -- the beer is almost purely awful big brewery fare. There was one...exception however, from Quebec: Archibald Chipie, of all choices! It was above average, but the rest – Goose Island, Bud, Mill Street – eecccch! Talk about incongruent. It’s an interesting little spot in the neglected Cherry Beach area on a channel. There’s much potential but it lacks modern gastropub finesse and their prices are about average for Toronto, which isn’t a compliment.More

Easy to get to, FREE PARKING, very good food (try the KC homeburger), reasonable prices, very nice environment outside with great view, servers overworked but do their best and no issue about food time or service. Our student female server was accommodating, had a cute...and intelligent demeanor, casual but professional. We'd go back for sure. This is an off-the-beaten-track find.... not gourmet, but good value.More

You're never going to stumble upon this accidentally. You may even need a map. But it's so worth it. Great ambience, great food, geat service, and all at a reasonable price. What more can you ask for?

Our family stopped in on our way to dropping teens off for concert at Rebel nightclub. There’s really nothing in this area but we spotted this restaurant and so happy we did! The service is amazing! Marlee was so friendly and helpful. Food so delicious!...Recommend the Mac & Cheese, Roast Beef Dip, KC Burger and Curried Beef Rib. All so delicious! Everybody happy with their meal. The atmosphere is also so cozy with stone fireplace. Get a seat in front of the fire on a cold day enjoy a glass of wine or beer! Relaxing and friendly looking out to the river. We will be back!More
