I went with a friend and we ordered gnocchi (sans the pork for me), the mozzarella ball, and the olive oil tasting sampler. The olive oil was nothing special. They came in three small jars and cube-cut bread. Balsamic would have made it tastier. The...More

Local Kitchen is a neighborhood restaurant that promotes locally sourced foods and produce as its mainstay ingredients. It's located in a fairly gritty, low income (but safe) area of the city, and is nice enough - unpretentious, rustic, and casual. There were four of us,...More

The seating is "cozy" and don't look for any matching dishes or fancy décor. The star is the food and the service, both top notch. The mackerel special was creative and delicious, as were the veggies and the cheese plate for dessert. excellent pasta too....More

This restaurant participated in Toronto's "Giro d'Italia" representing Umbria. I made my reservation, and I looked forward to the dining experience. We arrived at the restaurant, admittedly 5-10 minutes late. The place was much smaller than I expected. Our table was jammed into a cramped...More

My husband and I booked a table during winterlicious. Clearly the restaurant was just in it to make more money as the tables were absolutely packed in and they had clearly overbooked. When we arrived we let the manager (or owner?) know we were there....More

This was my first visit to Local. We had a 9pm table on Friday evening and the restaurant was very crowded when we arrived, and noisy plus cramped because the space is not large. However, it emptied out as people began leaving, which made the...More

The meal was bland, we had gnocchi, pasta and a salad. The server boosted that they only use a few ingredient in each dish - maybe that accounts for the lack of excitement. The gnocchi tasted like unsalted mash potatoes. The server offered steak -...More

West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry
