Some Uyghur students I met in Kitchener where I live recommended this place and after reading all the great reviews and seeing the mouth-watering photos of the food, my wife & I were determined to try it out. And we were not disappointed! The restaurant...itself is just a small place in a little plaza and easy to miss. Inside, it’s nicely decorated with cultural artifacts and photos. Service is prompt and friendly. There’s not a whole lot of seating so we were happy it wasn’t that busy, even on a Friday evening. The menu isn’t extensive but even so, we had a hard time choosing just a couple of dishes to try! We finally settled on the Uyghur Chicken (Dapanji), a savoury chicken stew with potatoes, flat noodles, chili peppers, garlic, ginger, onions, and spices, and the Petir Manta, which are Uyghur-style steamed dumplings filled with lamb, onion, and spices. The dumplings were delicious! They were savoury, not spicy. The server provided us with some chili sauce and black vinegar if we cared to use them. My wife absolutely loved the taste of the dumplings with a dash of black vinegar on them. The chicken dish smelled heavenly and tasted heavenly too! Definitely spicy, at a medium heat level for me, but so delicious. The chicken dish is offered in a portion for 2 people or for 3 people. We chose the one for 2 people but even so, we had leftovers to take home, along with a couple of dumplings too. We were honestly so impressed with the food and the service here! And are determined to go back until we’ve tried all the items on their menu! Highly recommended!More

We were in the area looking for Japanese cuisine to be honest, but after some failed attempts we ended up here from a random Google search. We weren't expecting much but the food and the service was completely amazing! The meat was marinated just the...right amount and the noodles and rice dishes were also not like anything we've tasted before. Love this unique restaurant and cuisine - we will definitely be back for more soon!More

Top notch authentic Uyghur food, and service that makes you feel like a family member. The lamb skewers are expertly marinated, the chõchüre spiced just right, and the traditional gõshnan and dapanji live up to their reputation. The menu isn't padded with generic Americanized Chinese...dishes; nothing but authentic Xin Jiang staples, each done perfectly. The place itself is roomy and comfortable, and parking is ample. Like other Uyghur restaurants, they don't serve alcohol. Prices are very reasonable - if they were located on Bloor or Queen Street, they could easily charge twice and people would still line up for a table.More
