Very generous portions (I dare you to finish your meal...). Friendly owners and superbly spiced authentic Ethiopian food. Must go!

It was my first time eating Ethiopian food and I loved it here! The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing! I loved the beef sambusa, meat and veggie platter, and the Doro Wat (Chicken Stew)! I'd definitely come back!

This is our third Ethiopian Restaurant we've been to in Toronto, and probably our third favourite! The food was comparable, but a bit more expensive and smaller portions (some people will still find the dinner for two quite large - it's just smaller than others we've had)! All in all, quite tasty, VERY friendly staff and OK atmosphere. Thanks! :)

No pics because most of the cuisine looks the same - the fact is the food is delicious!!! And even more so, the hospitality was wonderful. We felt like we were invited into someone's Ethiopian's home and treated like family!!! The food was so fresh and quality so high and they even had Tusk Ethiopian beer!!! GO THERE AND HAVE... More

I found this restaurant by walking past it on a Saturday, and dropped in for lunch. The decor is Ethiopian, the staff are friendly and the food is very tasty. Especially for non-meat-eaters like me, Ethiopian food is a real treat! If I lived in Toronto, I would come back regularly.

Best meal we had in Toronto! The vegetarian platter for two was a terrific sampler of great veggie entrees. A mixture of mild and medium spicy dishes seasoned to perfection. The restaurant offered gluten-free injera (traditional Ethiopian bread). As with all Ethiopian restaurants, the injera serves as the utensils as no fork, spoon or knife is provided. The coffee was... Really enjoyed the food. First time eating Ethiopian food and chose this restaurant on trip advisor rating. The restaurant is very far from fancy but the service was awesome...very friendly man and the food was great! Really enjoyed eating with out cutlery...used Ethiopian bread as a scoop...something about that was very freeing!

The service is great, but the food is what I come for. I drop by so regularly, they know me and it feels like visiting friends. Ask for generous amounts of awaze hot sauce and they will accommodate you. Licensed, so I have that choice if I feel like a stronger beverage to accompany my meal. They also serve Ethiopian... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
