Celebrating a friends 50th birthday. Service was painstakingly slow. Once mains finally arrived it is safe to say that the quality of food served is over-priced.

On a Friday in Mid November, my wife and I went to Alleycatz Restaurant for dinner. I had made a reservation for two so we were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant was almost full to capacity. A band was warming up by 9 PM to start playing by 9:30. I had ordered the Spaghetini that comes chicken and shrimp.... More

The people in service try, but it took over two hours to get entrees. We all had issues with our meals, over cooked largely, tough meat, microwaved vibe. If in the area go to Cibo. Way better for the price. The band needs a difibulator.

We went for dinner at this place last Friday and it was very nice!!! The food was very tasty and the service very good considering the place was packed. They had a live band playing a tribute to Prince, people dancing, which was very good. We had a great time. I would go back again!!!

An enjoyable 3 course meal with friends at AlleyCatz as part of their Summerlicious menu. The selections were excellent - including Chicken and Lamb and Beef, The Beet salad was great - everyone in out party of 7 enjoyed their meals. Disappointed by the lack of live music - we specially booked for a Thursday but no music and the... More

You enter this restaurant off a small alley and enter what appears to be a large empty club or dance hall. There are then a smattering of tables along the far walls with oddly flashing lights coming up out of the floor against the wall. For those of us facing the empty dance floor it was a rather resolute feeling.... More

Great live band, high energy. DJ is excellent. Had a great time and danced for many hours. A good mix of younger and mature crowd. Dance floor was packed. Great service both at the bar and at the table.

We were quite disappointed that we were seated at the far side of the restaurant - that section was a rustic extension of the premises, we felt like we were sitting at a narrow balcony. They put 2 parallel tables within 6 ft. across that reflected all they care was head counts not customer service! The place was packed as... More

We celebrated a birthday there. We had made reservations, so got a great booth (spacious, unlike some of the other tables). We were not rushed at all, our service was prompt and attentive. Our appetizers and meals were very good. (Mussels, spinach dip, stuffed chicken and giant ravioli). Our only complaint was that wine list was not up to date,... More

I booked reservations for a party of 12 on March 12th, 2016. We arrived at 8pm and the waitress that served us that night was awful. We were asked what we would like for drinks 20 mins after being seated. The drinks took about 10 mins to get to the table. I asked the waitress around 9 if we could... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
