My husband and I were here for dinner this past weekend. He had been staying in Toronto for a show for several days so I went down to see him and really had to scramble to be able to get a reservation anywhere, even though we were there for Friday and I started trying to reserve at places on Tuesday.... We went here for dinner before Kinky Boots. Our server was friendly and helpful in the beginning but we didn't see her again until it was time to pay. Our steak was cooked perfectly but neither the steak nor the frites had any seasoning on them. Very disappointing. We had to track down a server to get some salt n... More

Took my family here for dinner before our viewing of Phantom of the Opera. The servers are mindful of those on a schedule, due to the proximity of the theaters. The restaurant was very nice (ambiance, decor), and the food was good. Although I have to admit my expectations of the food were set a little higher than Luma actually... More

We ate here as part of a Mirvish Theatre package, so the menu was limited to a few selections of appetizer, entree and dessert. We were both able to find selections for all three we liked. The food was plentiful and tasty. The restaurant itself was very nice in decor, seating and climate comfort. The server, Tran, was very attentive... More

Turned up on spec - early evening - got a tble for 2, but I would recommend booking as it was packed later. Very friendly, very helpful. Wine was good value, has some great draught beers as well. But the food - wow! I had the duck. It was the best duck I can remember eating and that includes France!... More

We went to Luma for their special "taste of Iceland". It was wonderful! They invited a chef from Iceland and she made us discover their dishes. It was creative, fresh and very tasty! It was a 65$ menu so very affordable. They should invite more "guest" chefs from around the world. It is a great idea !

I recently stopped here for a business dinner. The menu is short, which I like, as it gives a restaurant the chance to focus. The food was quite good, albeit a bit pretentious in the descriptors. Service was great.

Was fortunate enough to go here on a work lunch for a birthday, and was able to enjoy meal to the fullest. It was a quiet lunch hour during the week, and we were sat outside on the patio/balcony int he corner. The bench was plush and comfy, and we had a great view of the street and city life... More

Make reservations. This place has lots of seating but was very busy at the time we went 7:30pm. The food display was very well done. It is not a large menu. only 2 items on menu if you are vegetarian but it was delicious.

We dined at this restaurant in November 2015. Had a nice table by the window. Tables are not too close together which gives everyone privacy and good room. The 2 things that stood out at this restaurant were the DELICIOUS food and the incredible service! Probably the best service I have ever received. Servers were extremely attentive, so friendly, very... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
