Good pub, great selection of drinks with a good European range of beers. Liked the seating downstairs. Very busy and popular. Similar to is sister pub, Sin and Redemption.

The selection of beers is really excellent--the Belgians in particular have many good choices. But don't let me sell the food short either. Although we just had appetizers (the calamari and smoked mackerel), they were very good and no doubt are indicative of the excellent fare on the regular menu. This is really a great spot.

Came for lunch/brunch. So much food - huge portions so bring your appetite - and everything fresh and very tasty. Excellent service and great atmosphere. A gazillion beers on tap and in bottles. An authentic European dining experience at great price. Convenient location in entertainment district. Not accessible. Highly recommended. Will come again!!

This restaurant has one of the best European beer selections I've seen. We found some of our favorite Belgian beers we normally can't find. The moules and frites were also great. Coupled with a cozy atmosphere, and you've got a perfect night.

We came here for beers. Great selection of beer but service was poor. They seated us next to the stairs so a lot of movement right next to out table. After our server dropped off our first set of drinks we were essentially ignored. Eventually we decided it was best just to get the bill and leave. Again, great selection... More

This is my 3rd visit to this place in 3 years (we dine here every time we visit TO for hockey day weekend). Cramped quarters. Such a weird layout in this place. But if you're not stuck up and don't mind having a GREAT time, come here. The menu selection is quite European; things lots of pork and fatty stuff.... More

This wooden paneled pub was busy and packed on a Sat evening. There were many varieties of beer and all were refreshing and chilled to perfection. Service was great.

If you want amazing beer in a fantastic warm atmosphere this is the place. If your looking for great food, well we had the sausage platter and it was ok. I would go back for beers but not the food.

In town for a convention, looking for a warm and cozy place to have a beer and food within walking distance? This is it, a quiet warm place, no TV's, loads of beers on tap and a decent steak frites.

My daughter made a reservation for 6 pm on a Friday evening for the four of us at the Town Cryer Pub on John Street ,Toronto. The steps leading to the establishment were narrow and steep although there was no snow I felt uncomfortable desending these stairs. We were stuffed in the corner beside the side door and it was... Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
