I love this place ! Last night, I had the meat loaf special. I needed some comfort food. It doesn't sound like a big menu item but .... wow..... this is hands down the best meatloaf I've ever had. Sorry Mom ! Topped with mushrooms,...grilled, came with mashed potatoes and green beans. If you see it on the menu...order it !! They do a great job and I can't wait for them to open but up for indoor and outdoor dining again !More

This is our neighbourhood go-to spot. Spent the summer and fall enjoying their lovely and COVID-safe patio and food. The staff are friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to serve you well. Since the most recent lockdown, only take-out and delivery are...available. We get an email from them once a week, tempting our taste buds. This past week they had a "Winterlicious" special of three courses at a very reasonable price. We picked up our order which was piping hot and rushed home with it (just down the block). My steak was huge and so tender and tasty. My husband raved about his cod cakes and salmon trout. Valentine's Day is coming up...looking forward to their offerings. It is so important to support our local businesses during this awful time and we don't have any hesitation in recommending The Blake House.More

While in lockdown they organized a special bulk delivery to our condo of Prime Rib with Mash and veg...FANTASTIC. I have since ordered and picked up. They have a great tree shaded patio and separated tables inside. Fish & Ships fantastic.

Our overnight visit by my dotter and I to T.O is now an annual event - her birthday and wedding anniversary for my husband and I. (Mummy/dotter☘️ time). Our dinner and a show outing brought us to this beautifully respected restaurant with excellent food and...atmosphere in abundance! The staff were welcoming, our server was knowledgeable about the menu, including informing us of the daily specials. He was attentive without being annoying and yet when you thought to raise a hand to beckon him he was already there! The food was delicious, portions generous and presentation well delivered. Thank you Mr Blake for allowing us to visit! Our show you ask, Riverdance of course! ☘️ Excellent!More

We dined at the Blake House tonight and also last Tuesday night and we can’t say enough good about the food and this restaurant. The decor is warm and clean, wait staff friendly and knowledgeable. They have a variety of “specials” plus a diverse menu....We have had Cajun pork, Fish and chips, yummy Chicken Put pie and Stout Beef Steak pie and all of the meals were delicious and large servings. It is on Jarvis Street and it was the former Red Lion many years ago. Excellent, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.More

Decided to stop here while recently staying in the area while in Toronto. Certainly happy I did. The Blake House has some great ambiance, small but cozy. Obviously lots of locals. Staff and patrons were extremely friendly. Had the calamari to start and honestly may...be the best I have ever had. Pieces were perfectly cooked - not rubbery at all. And the batter was very light and crispy. Excellent! Although there were lots of tempting choices went with the burger for dinner. Was a terrific burger accompanied by a big plate of home made fries. You won’t be disappointed if you are a burger fan. I would certainly recommend checking out the Blake House!!More

This is NOT a "Pub" ... but a good restaurant with a great bar! I have been there many times and love the place. The staff is warm and welcoming and will bend over backwards to meet your personal wishes. The ambience is warm (lots...or dark wood and nice stone...) and the real-wood fireplace is particularly cozy on these cold February nights. I am a draft beer drinker only and they have 12 different (I hope I got that count right !) beers on tap, including a number of great craft beers. Their menu list of their beer in cans is also quite eclectic. Food wise - I have had many items on their regular menu and they are all excellent (I really like their Fish & (fresh-cut) Chips... and their pan-fried salmon is to die for...) but I often order from their evening dinner features. These are on almost every night and are particularly good. All of the goodies served there are made in-house ... (they don't even have a microwave in the kitchen!!). Every Sunday, they serve a true British Sunday Roast beef with all the trimmings ... including an awesome gravy over it all! Location - on Jarvis, right across from the National Ballet School - and there is cheap parking available ...) (Oh, and did I mention... I found the prices, both for food and alcohol, really reasonable...) (btw, they have a wonderful patio when the warmer weather comes!)More

The restaurant has a warm pub feel, a welcome for us during the cold snowy night. I ordered the special which was a giant steak, juicy and done just as I wanted - tender meat with crispy edge, just yum! My husband got the ribs...which was delicious. Staff were very friendly and we were happy overall with our visit.More

My daughter and her friend were attending a dance program at the National Ballet School. On the first day they were starving after a full day of dance and we noticed The Blake across the street. We decided to give it a try and we...were so glad we did. The building is a lovely old mansion with a wood burning fireplace. We sat at a cozy little table and quickly were greeted by a very friend waiter. We all ordered steaks. They were perfectly cooked. We loved our meals and the service was excellent. We liked it so much that we went back for dinner two days later and had another great experience. We will definitely return on future trips.More

I booked my staff for a quarterly outing here. The staff at the Blake House were amazing. The private room downstairs was excellent for a party. The food was fantastic. And the restaurant itself was beautiful.
