Probably wouldn’t go back. Showed up 10 mins early for our 3 pm reservation in one of there bubbles. Stood outside over 10 mins while 4 serves walked around outside. Service was okay during our meal until after. I ended up taking our daughter for...a walk because she was getting antsy. My husband waited 17 mins for our bill and ended up going inside to find our server. (Never found him) But apparently it was dinner time as all the employees were sitting around eating? You’d think they’d try to have A+ service during a pandemic so customers would return.More

I have visited this place multiple times, either with friends or with family. Everyone loves the patio. A place with such a view and relaxing ambience is a rare find anywhere, let alone in TO. I like to travel. More often than not, places with...a view are overpriced, or with poor food/service. Against the Grain actually has a decent menu that requires cooking (not just deep frined stuff, or salad, tacos that can be thrown together by someone who needs no culineary training). It is not fine dining, but dishes here are as good as you can find at this price point. All service staff I have encoutnered were friendly and helpful. It is great place for a small group or family get together.More

It was my husband’65 birthday and the venue I had booked backed out 2 days before this surprise party. I was surprised at how quickly the Against the Grain staff returned my call requesting last minute space to hold the event for 30 people. They...put together some amazing appetizers that the guests all raved about. The dinners were not preordered, so I was surprised how smoothly service was with everyone receiving their hot meals in the same timeframe. Most of our guests had not been to the restaurant, and said they would definitely return as the food, service and ambiance were terrific. Many thanks to the staff for saving the day!More

We love the location, overlooking the water, but the food is also excellent. Tonight we had the 'Far East Hummus' to start and it was outstanding. For mains, the Tavern Salad with salmon was wonderful. Highly recommend this place for the views, the food and...friendly staff.More

We really enjoyed the atmosphere being down on the waterfront . The food was great and our server was outstanding. Not sure what others who reviewed were talking about.

We ate there yesterday before the downpour and started to look around while waiting for our drinks, while looking around we started to see see how dirty the outside patio floor was, chicken wing bones under tables and napkins as well. We both ordered the eggs...bennie which took forever to come and when they did they were barely lukewarm and the egg centers were over cooked as we had ordered with soft yoke. The waiter said he would have them quickly expedited which he did but I think the order belonged to the table behind us as they too were waiting for their order only to be told it was coming. Our server was good as could be be under the circumstances. Whatever happened to hold days of serving were all the waiters had side duties to be done. Would we go back, NO.More

Got together with friends this past week and thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and the spectacular view of Lake Ontario. We all ordered different dishes and shared amongst all. We were greeted with smiles and our server Sarah Keith made our dining experience most pleasurable and...relaxing. She was quick with our cocktails, also great suggestions for our meals and following up on topping off our drinks and desserts. We were a group of 8 and some had special requests...Sarah was so accommodating and friendly making sure we had an amazing visit together and we're so well looked after. I have to mention the Jerk Chicken is out of this world, food on the whole very nicely presented and tasteful. Will definitely return no special occasion needed...hope Sarah will be there as she offered the complete experience. See you soon!!!More

You would think that an overpriced place like this would have space in their 16 taps for an IPA or two. But at least one. Sadly, you would be wrong. Don't expect any help from the "bartender", as she will happily tell you what they...don't have, but not suggest any alternatives. Didn't stay for lunch.More

I dined at Against the Grain with a large group and it was a good experience. The food was decent (I enjoyed fish and chips - a large portion which a nice crispy batter) and there's a great selection of craft beer on tap. The...restaurant has a large outdoor patio with views over the lake - perfect on a warm, sunny day. Prices are reasonable ($16 to $16 for sandwiches/burgers and entrees) and the service was excellent notwithstanding having to deal with our large group.More

There's a stop right in front. The building will say "Corus" on the front and is set back from the street by a parking lot. Just ask the driver to let you know when you get to Queens Quay and they'll let you know.
