The most important ingredient of a burger is the meat, that said, the bun takes a back seat to the whole experience, but, has it's place too. This was the second time I ate at this restaurant, the first time was more than 6 years...ago, last nights experience was exactly the same as the first. The bun over powered the burger by far. To put it into perspective, I would say the meat was 30%, the bun 55% and the bacon cheese and others made up the difference. When I look for a burger, the meat is what needs to be the star of the show, this bun is so big, there's no place for it in my list of favourites, a big disappointment, once again.More

Ordered in Covid times for delivery. Gluten free burger bun selected...gluten covered onions added to burger...no dinner for me. Fries are also not gf friendly. Won’t be ordering again.

Had lunch here the other day. We were seated in a booth with a seat that was repaired by a large amount of duct tape. Over the course of our meal the tape melted into my pants. The pants are now ruined as it's the...consistency of gum. This is not a cheap burger place ($15+ burgers, fries purchased separately). I found it very irritating that they would still use this booth instead of fixing the issue. I wonder what other corners they choose to cut. I will not be returning.More

Was there third week of July. It was a Thursday evening meal so wasn’t super crowded. The food took forever to come. the fries were very cold so we wanted to talk about it but there was no server in sight for 10-15 mins. NOBODY....Finally the fries were exchanged and that too as if they were doing me a favor. Will not go there again. Burger was ok but fries were horrible and the service even worseMore

The waiter was passive aggressive, the music was blaring and we felt pretty unwelcome here. This use to be a super friendly place....not any more. There are so many great places where we feel welcomed....why bother with staff with attitude?

My husband and I went for dinner here on a whim. I’ve been previously, it was his first visit. Service was okay, nothing extraordinary. I ordered a Alan’s and my husband the signature burger. His came out wrong, the server tried to take only his...back. I explained we came to eat together. He took my plate back as well. Quick turnaround for the new burger for him, and I got back the same burger (complete with bite mark) on a new bun. He suspected, but was inconclusive, that his was wiped off and re-served. I take comfort that the bite mark was approximately the same size as my mouth so I’m almost sure it was my own recycled burger (here is hoping anyway) The star of the show was the duck poutine. Really_amazing. Absolutely delicious. I don’t think we’ll go back. For a $20 burger I think there are better options.More

We've been to The Burger Cellar twice in the last two months and had great service each time and yummy food. The portions are so generous that I could hardly finish my French Onion soup and three sliders (both appetizers) the first time we went....My husband had the Angus burger and loved it. On the second visit, other members of our family tried the calamari appetizer (loved it); the turkey burger (great) and the soup and sliders (again both reported as great). Since it was St. Patrick's Day weekend, I tried the fish and chips and had to share my very generous helping with the rest of the family, who enjoyed it as much as I did. We also enjoyed talking to our very personable servers. The cost is reasonable and we were able to be accommodated on short notice on both occasions, although we did call ahead for a reservation.More

We went to The Burger Cellar to celebrate a birthday on Boxing day as we had been here twice before and really enjoyed our meal. Well not tonight. Service was horrible! I was only told that there were no ribs when we were ordering -...not when he was taking our drink orders which came sporadically( believe me, the restaurant was not that busy!). The worst part of the meal came when I ate a hair and proceeded to pull it out of my mouth-a long one and certainly not mine). He did take my meal off the tab and apologized but by that time I was sickened of the thought. Everyone's meal was so-so and nothing to rave about, certainly not worth the price. A few of us were sick the next day as well. I sent a message to the restaurant the next day but they haven't even bothered to respond-I guess they don't really care so now I am telling everyone ! Don't take the chance of eating here!More

Killer bloody Caesar! Don't go looking for the celery stalk coz it ain't there. Instead, a stuffed olive, cherry tomato and a pickled hot pepper. A paper straw in place of a place one. Way to go Alan! Alan is the owner and there's a...burger named after him on the menu but I ordered the Hog Town with fried egg and a duck confit poutine. The burgers are really well flavored and done to perfection but it is the duck poutine and the service that prompted this review. We are planning another visit real soon to try the rest of their menu. I think you owe it to yourself to eat here at least once.More

Whilst walking along Yonge, we called in at Burger Cellar for our lunch. We were seated outside on a beautiful day in the shade and were looked after by our lovely waitress Danielle. She was very friendly and helpful and had a lovely smile.
