We stopped in to Dark Horse on the recommendation of a local friend and we were not disappointed. The service was friendly. The coffee and pastries were really good. The space (on Queen near the DVP) was open and attractive.

While the lattes and the chocolate croissants were more than adequate, the experience of sitting in the wide open space, listening to the well-chosen music, and the general ambience made this an above average cafe experience for a quick breakfast.
Might be a bit trendy, but great great coffee, only thing why no brown sugar. Espresso was as close to perfection as you can find

We spent an hour here killing some time in east Toronto. We enjoyed a couple of lattes. I was worried about the new location. Its newness loses some of the original homey charm. I think this will pass with use and patina.
This cafe has good big tables to use your laptop and study with wifi. Unfortunately it's super busy and they have very loud music and no outlets.
Lovely old historic building with great period features like the tin ceiling. The coffee was excellent, see why it gets a mention in the DK Top Ten Guide. Very nice staff and tasty bits to eat with it.
A pretty trendy and hipster type of coffee shop with large open spaces with a slight pretentious vibe. It looked interesting enough to warrant a visit but that was a regrettable decision as this place serves some pretty terrible espresso! Stay away from their 'punchbuggy'...More
