I've been here 4 times now and I'm left not really aching to go back. The beer selection is good, and their old-fashioned is quite nice (almost halfway between an old-fashioned and a Manhattan; works well, in my opinion). The food looks and smells great, and by all accounts *should* be good, but I was disappointed with the Fish &... More

I would like to think some drinking holes in Belgium, Germany, USA and the UK has some of the widest and most comprehensive beer selections available to the palate but I have to hand it to the BHB (CAD) this was a standout and with good reason to duke it out with the aforementioned 4. The venue is great for... More

A nice Beer Bar, with a huge assortment of beer, and bee blends. We have been there twice, for dinner. Burgers are ok.. the House salad was not my taste, the toast burnt. As the server said: we are a beer bar...

Coming from the US I'd really been wanting some top notch brews on tap. Bar Hop Brewco was great. Lower floor has a bar but there were several of us so we went to the second floor which has a variety of tables, high top and a seating at the bar. The selection is amazing with everything from an English... More

Jerk wings were incredible and garlic doughnuts were interesting though probably wouldn't order again as these upmarket bar snacks aren't cheap. Good selection of beers and service was good. However one portion each of the food above + two 4oz flights + service, set us back $80 (gulp).

I've never had a thing I didn't like here. Food is so yummy and creative. The jerky is fantastic. We loved getting the flights of beer to try all different kinds. Definitely one of my favourite places in Toronto.

Went here expecting a huge selection of interesting beer. Only a couple of things I was actually interested in though maybe that was just my taste. Service was really slow, and servers were absent minded and not that great. Didn't make a great impression. Food as better than expected, though I ordered my steak rare and when it came out... More

Last minute drop in at sister resto/bar, The New Bar Hop Brew Co-137 Peter Street (between Queen and Richmond). Excellent service, good vibe and food excellent. Selection of local beer and cider is second to none with informative views from staff. My wife especially really likes the idea of offering small glasses (5oz) too. Something most craft bars should endorse.

Finally stopped in at Bar Hop (King West location) in Toronto and was really impressed with the service and beer selection, not to mention the bartender's beer knowledge was impeccable. Krista made my friend and I feel welcomed and excited to try new things. Given how busy it was, I was impressed at the level of care and attention we... More

The tap list is incredible! I couldn't believe at the amount of beers from different breweries and of different styles. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
