This restaurant is in my neighbourhood so we come here often. The fish and rice meals are always great- whichever one you get. Food is tasty although some times service hindered by language - don't get me wrong they are eager to help but just don't fully understand sometimes. They have both Colombian and Mexican menus but I have not... More

We've been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years. It's VERY authentic and delicious. I've tried almost every item on the menu and they are all really good. My favourite one is the carne asada or the sancocho de cola. My husband loves the mar y Tierra. We always order the empanadas for a start, which are extremely delicious. My... More

We came for lunch today and enjoyed everything we ordered! We had the arepas with cheese and the empanadas to start. The salsa served with the empanadas was spicy in the tastiest way! For our main courses, we enjoyed the flautas (fried chicken tacos), chicken enchiladas and tacos al pastor. Each plate came served with a generous portion of rice... More

I'm a regular at this Baby Point restaurant (west end Toronto) the Sopa de Mariscos (seafood soup) is fantastic. Contains: -clams -mussels -whitefish -crab -shrimp -octopus, and -squid It's possible that I missed something. Must be tried! And comes with a side of rice and avocado. I've tried other dishes, they are great too, but this one keeps me coming... More

The service and food was excellent. The owner was helpful in guiding is through the menu and keep checking to ensure we enjoy the food such as how to enjoy Spanish bacon etc.

Not quite Mexican but very similar, Arrieros holds down the area as the original "taco spot" in Baby Point. Mostly visited by "people of Spanish influenced decent", here you will find beverages like "Colombiana" (Colombiam soda that tastes like coke and cream soda mixed together) and all sorts of fare that resembles Mexican (tacos, burritos, choriqueso...). It's all quite good... More

We came to this restaurant at 3 PM on a Monday and although operating schedule, website and Facebook page states that they are open they were close. Can't find any good Colombian restaurant open in Toronto for lunch. What a shame!

Food & service were very good! I did decide on a Mexican item when I was there and found it to be very tasty. It made me want to come back. Next time, though, I would choose a Columbian dish to compare.

Wife and 4 year old daughter went there for dinner on recommendation from a Colombian friend. What a find. It's a small resto with 6 picnic style tables. Very cozy with a Colombian vibe. The Colombian dishes were great. I had the paisa. It was huge with rice, a very savoury sausage, egg, plantain, beans, bacon and sausage. Can't remember... More

I moved to this area in august 2011, tried Los Arrieros, and absolutely fell in love. I went about 5 times in as many weeks afterwards, and although ive since branched out a lot more (with the awesome Bloor West Village so close), this place is still a staple for me. It truly feels like a columbian restaurant, and the... More

Staying in York-Crosstown

Neighbourhood Profile
York-Crosstown
York-Crosstown is a sleepy area of Toronto dotted gorgeously with hills and farmland, stately homes and parks. An affluent district in parts, the stately houses at Baby Point along Jane Street are especially breathtaking, and make for a lovely wander on a clear day. Parks are bountiful in York-Crosstown, which makes it a vibrant area for outdoor play and sports, providing a break from the hustle of Toronto's busy, jam-packed city center. For a little spice after a walk in the park, the Little Jamaica area of York sports cheap, authentic food from the Caribbean. This area is restful and more orientated towards outdoor activity and the exploration of nature.
