Are they really vegan these desserts? Because I am not, but my sister is. Hence I picked up some nice treats and to my surprise, they were delicious and felt less guilty after eating them!

Tori's interior was so clean and peaceful, and their staff so inviting! I took a bite of their mixed berry vegan cupcake and fell in love instantly. The berry compote inside was also a lovely surprise. I was so impressed I bought another one (and a grapefruit cupcake) home!

Popped in on the advice of a friend and had a lovely lunch for two. Homemade soup, cheese tea biscuit, a sandwich, a chocolate cheesecake cupcake and pot of green tea. A little pricey, $40.00 including tip but everything was delicious. Beautiful location on Queen Street East, even in the dead of winter. Seating for 14 at most.

Okay, this place is pricey but the treats are heavenly - I don't usually eat doughnuts but at this place I do. My fav is the broccoli scone. Lots of gluten free choices. It is hard to pick just one yummy treat - I wish they offered discounts if you bought a half dozen...sigh. So if you plan to stay... More

I go semi-regularly and am always impressed. The menu is vegan and they have an array of gluten free menu items. Their cupcakes are so tempting, but usually opt for a coconut milk mocha & breakfast cookie. The mocha is making my mouth water just writing about it. Tori's sandwiches are full of flavour and you can't even tell the... More

I recently moved to the area and visited Tori's with my boyfriend. It was lovely - the staff were all friendly and the cakes and baking all just looked amazing. I had an almond milk latte and my boyfriend had a cappuccino, he had a beautiful cupcake and I had a vegan butter tart. Everything was delicious. They also had... More

My mother and I visited Toro's Bakeshop early on a Saturday morning and were lucky enough to grab one of the few tables to sit down and enjoy our great coffees (they know how to make a proper flat white) and tasted a selection of born GF and non gluten free cookies, pastries and Scones. The cinnamon rolls are something... More

I had high hopes for this bakery. I was sure I visited on my trip to Toronto. I am always looking for alternative bakeries due to my gluten and dairy allergy. I tried the cupcake and ordered a banana loaf to go. Both were very underwhelming. These treats would not fool someone who wasn't used to gf goods. The typical... More

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
