We were staying at an airport hotel and were faced with where to eat for dinner. The choice seemed to be jack astors, montana's and the like when we stumbled on this gem of a japanese restaurant. Its got an intimate feel but good service and the sushi was great but the top taste prize of the evening goes to... More

It is a mid range pricing but so worth it. The sashimi choices are a lot and I personally like the butter fish, the bento choices are good and it will satisfy any customer. The Staff are awesome and always smiling. The Itamae's greets you by yelling "Irasshaimase"(WELCOME), it is so nice.

I often attend meetings in the airport vicinity and usually go to the same places to meet and eat. Wanted to try something different. Looked up Japanese restaurants around the airport and Sushi Ya Japan came up. Thought I would try. Went with no expectation. Well, was I pleasantly surprised. Small, fairly authentic style Japanese restaurant. The staff greeted me... More

This is a great place to have sushi near the airport without the "hotel" setting. Extra parking ins in the back. Parking lot in the front is tiny. A small restaurant and yes, it it a bit dark, but cozy. I do agree with another review that the wait staff tend to speak quite loud in the back and it... More

This is THE most authentic Japanese sushi restaurant I have been to in the Toronto area. My new go-to place when I am craving sushi and so close to home. A very small place and a cozy atmosphere. You'll miss this place if you blink, but can't miss the sushi sign. The waitresses are super friendly and attentive, very gracious.... More

I had a great dinner at Sushi Ya. Great atmosphere and the customer service is fantastic. Sushi is fresh and really really good. When you're in the area and want sushi please choose Sushi Ya over any other local sushi place. You will not be disappointed.

Takeout portions very disappointing. We've eaten here before and ordered the exact same teriyaki dinner, boat and rolls (Dynamite and Sushi-ya rolls - both delicious by the way) and plenty of food for our family. This was first time we ordered takeout from Sushi-ya and the portions were much smaller than eat-in. More disappointing was fact that our salmon sashimi... More

Was heading to the airport to head home and thought... while I still have my rental car, let's stop and get something other than the crap that is in the airport. Stopped and did a quick search and found high reviews for Sushi-Ya. The parking lot was full which should have been an indication right there. Walked in and there... More
