Best food and best service you will find for miles. Really culturally diverse considering the overly European nature of the area.

A very bizarre experience. Since they describe themselves as a "small plates" restaurant, you would think they understand how to deliver food efficiently. Here's what happened...we each ordered an appetizer and a "main course". After 20 minutes, one appetizer was delivered. This was a bit strange because 2 of us had ordered exactly the same thing. We waited for another 15 minutes with no further food. Then one additional appetizer and one main was delivered (both lukewarm). By the way, our waitress was nowhere in sight for the entire time. She finally showed up and we complained...so she said we could have a free dessert to make up for our waiting. Then all the rest of the food arrived...again, barely lukewarm and delivered by another waitress. We complained the food was cold...and our waitress says she discussed our situation with her manager and they were not going to charge us for one appetizer! Anyway, we finished our food and ordered our "free" desserts. Turns out we were only offered one free dessert, not three.
This place is lousy with poor client service and a total lack of effective supervision. Too bad, because the food was actually pretty good which explains the 2 stars...even if it was cold.

Checking back to one of my old neighbourhood of eateries. The Azarias Restaurant still shines bright. Grey Cup Football Sunday and the place was lively. The aroma of delicious cooking filled the restaurant dinning area as we entered. We were greeted and seated in a comfortable setting with lots of table space to explore the chef's menu creations again. The choice of libations is endless with many wines’ spirits and brews. I started with the feature cocktail, a Pear Cosmopolitan and it was spectacular. Good wine choices to follow. The waitress was well rehearsed and made ordering simple. The Shared Seafood Platter was the starter and set up the rest of the meal choices worthy of sharing so we can try all the chef is offering. The whole meal was most excellent and entertaining as each plate made good dinner conversation. From the start to the finished it’s a polished act that’s worthy of a visit.

We had our first meal at Azarias last night, (outdoor seating as required by the COVID-19) guidelines. We had decided to try the restaurant because the menu looked so interesting. We ordered the beet salad which was adequate and then proceeded to 4 cod slides. The “cod sliders” that were delivered were in fact shrimp sliders as we discovered after the first few bites. They were much to spicey for my wife, but I ate the four shrimps without the slaw and taco. I mentioned to the server that shrimp rather than cod sliders were served and she asked with my wife would like to try one cod slider which came over-cooked and with way too much batter. We also had the smoked meat slider which were corned beef, but tastey and the beef dip, which was tender and flavourful. I cannot recommend this restaurant because of the lack of attention to detail in the preparation and serving of food. Moreover, when the bill came, we were charged for the one cod slider, which we should not have because of the error in serving us shrimp tacos and that I interpeted the server’s offer to get a cod slider to make up for the error. Overall, we were disappointed.

Ordered a number of different dishes. All of them were well prepared and travelled well. Excellent job introducing take out. Mark added in a new salad for us to try which was very good.

So the place just keeps getting better...Heidi was one of my favorites but now there is Kayla and the place is really stepping it up...I think they sent Mark golfing permanently.
We had my wife's birthday there and everything was amazing, on a Saturday and the place was hopping and Kayla was excellent as was Erica our waitress...
Back the other night with a couple old friends from Mississauga and they absolutely loved the food, the vibe and the place was again nice and busy.
I know some people think they are trying to rush you, not true, just take your time ordering and everything slows down to your speed.
I will keep going back as it is an easy choice as we always enjoy the food - the people and it is a bonus when Mark is in the house running a little 'nutty'...

Fabulous service, great atmosphere. We had share plates - shrimp taco's (a bit salty), risotto (a bit too starchy) smoked meat sliders (great) and kung pao chicken (too sweet).
Overall a fun evening.

We chose this place for our girls Christmas dinner based on all the positive reviews and we were not disappointed! The food is served tapas style so you can try multiple dishes, it tends to get pricey but worth it! The scallops were melt in your mouth, best scallops I had that’s for sure! Seared ahi tuna also delicious, sliders were awesome, lobster gnocchi melt in tour mouth! Everything was super good
Would definitely go back but make sure you make reservations otherwise you won’t get in! I understand why the place was so busy!

Those were the gracious, teasing words of our host as he held the door for us after sipping and nibbling and yes - talking - for over four hours this past Tuesday evening.
We were delighted to be at the window table which kept us at the side of the high energy, almost-too-loud chatter once the place filled up. From our perch, we witnessed not one, but two cars overstay their welcome and receive parking tickets in the same spot. "Watch the parking meter!" is the only warning I'd make when visiting this winning restaurant.
We appreciated the bread and lovely olive oil provided when we sat down. The large variety of shared plates surely has something for everyone. We opted for the cheese fondue with pickled onions, spicy sausage and sun-dried tomatoes - along with tasty croutons. Yum! We join the list of favourites in adding the Brussel sprouts - beautifully spiced with bacon. What's not to love?
Our favourites were two of the three specials on offer that night: a fabulous maple brisket poutine that was to die for! The fish tacos were an interesting twist on the theme and oh, so tasty and crisp in contrasting texture. All dishes (our own and those we saw on nearby tables) were presented beautifully.
We appreciated a nice variety of wines from which to choose - with the choices of 5 or 8 oz glasses. I always enjoy creative cocktails - also on offer. I chose the white sangria to hold onto summer for a bit longer....and was delighted by the fresh fruit at the end of the meal.
Fabulous food & drink, a gracious host and what made it even better? Excellent service! Our server hit the bull's eye in being attentive and not intrusive, cheerfully offering helpful suggestions and checking in regularly. She kept our water glasses topped up - always the mark of great service. And not once in the over four hours did we feel rushed (even when I had to slip out to feed the parking meter)!
We'll be back.... wonder what the specials will be next time?

I have been to Azarias at least a dozen times and I always come away with the same feeling—“Wow, that was amazing.” The staff are friendly and helpful but the food is incredible. The menu is designed as small plates for sharing and there is a wide variety options so no matter what your food orientation is, there are lots of choices. I suggest ordering 2 plates at a time and a maximum of 6 for two people. If you have a larger group it is fantastic too as you can mix and match dishes so everyone gets their favourite. There are so many delicious dishes on the menu, it is hard to make recommendations but the short ribs are a don’t miss. My daughter loves the oysters and my husband likes to try the specials of the day. Lots of TVs at the front if it’s a big game night and a more formal dining area at the back. Make a reservation though cause this is a west end hot spot!

Times like this I love to find gems in the neighbourhood as I have over 400 thousand readers and love to share good finds. It's a super busy place so resos are most likely needed, especially Friday and Saturday. They take a 6:30 and an 8:30. The owner is very friendly and the service is great. The food is tapas style and very tasty. I love how ecclectic the food is and you can grab just about anything. The wine menu is extenstive. Great place to recommend!
