This place is amazing. Any food you buy at Sanremo is tasty and fresh. I visit this place regularly every Saturday since I am not from Toronto. Today I decide to write review.Today I was there again and got for me and my daughter veal parmesan sandwich’s, chocolate dip delicious donuts, small vegetable pizza and black coffee. Everything was excellent! Of course was little waiting time due to COVID-19 rules but it was worth. People come to Sanremo not just from Toronto but from city’s a few hours away. If you like Italian food definitely you need to visit

I’ll preface this all by saying Sanremo has huge hype attached to it and visiting (especially if you are still trying to take COVID precautions) is intimidating! The place is a maze of twisting lines, requiring you to line up multiple times to secure various items (coffee line, bread line, pastry/donut line, etc.) and it is BUSY. That said, we opted to visit on a Sunday morning and were already well aware of the crowds we’d be battling. To avoid the worst of it, we opted to pre-order our donuts for pick up, which does not require you actually entering the busy bakery and then divided and conquered the other parts. My partner in the inside bakery line, and myself waiting at the coffee/take out windows. In the end this was not a casual bakery experience BUT we loved almost everything we ordered and if you know what you are in for before arrival, it’s worth the effort! We Had: Cheese Pizza (AMAZING) Americanos x 2 ½ Dozen Donuts (Apple Fritter, Chocolate Coconut, Cinnamon Bun, Chocolate Dip, Sugar Twist, Honey Twist)

The customer service here is horrible. We waited in line to pick up an order and once we made it to the window we got yelled at by an incredibly rude barista to move to the side because there were other people waiting. This made us feel unimportant and dismissed and gave us a negative impression right off the bat. Not only was the wait not worth the food but nothing is worth being yelled at for no reason and feeling awful especially as a paying customer. There are so many other great bakeries in Toronto. Try to avoid this one it really isn't worth it.

Chaotic, unpleasant environment. After standing in line for 3 pastries, they will not let you pay at the pastry counter (even though they say you may do so and I offered). The woman has to come up from behind the counter, take pastry box to front cash, leave it there until you are called to pay. This requires that you stand in another line. Pastries are subpar and taste bland and similar, as if they are made from the same base. Bread is non descript. Espresso coffee has no crema, watery and bitter. Proof that change is not always for the best. Something has definitely changed here and not for the better!

You would expect a company that has been in business for over 50 years would have their order taking to a tee. I ordered a pre-made sandwich at lunch and waited in line for 20 min just to have it put into a bag. They put it into the line with those waiting to be toasted. Why wouldn't you just bag the sandwiches at the time of order for those who don't want to have theirs toasted? After wasting my lunch time waiting, I ask the rude old Italian lady working the toaster if I could just my order bagged so I could go..Nope all I got was total attitude. So I walked out. Another time I got 2 slices of veal and a small Greek salad and it came to $30...$30! What a rip off. This place is overpriced and overrated joke. I won't be back. Suckers follow the hype.

Excellent bakery for fresh breads and desserts. So many options to choose from. There is also a deli where you can get meats and cheeses. The hot stove is also a must where you can get some of the biggest Sandwhiches I’ve seen, pizzas, and a hot stove with so many options. The place is extremely busy each and every time my wife and I have gone, but we manage without issue as we expect it when going. Great place to stop when in the area.

This place is a complete rip-off!!! I wanted to buy some sliced turkey and they sell it for $50/kg. I have never seen such price in any other deli or supermarket and I shop somewhere every week. Please don't spend your money there, it isn't worth it.

Not sure what has happened to San Remo but prior to the pandemic this bakery was the best in every aspect of the baking, hot food and atmosphere quality. Not anymore: Last Saturday, I ordered a hot veal sandwich and it was so tasteless that I had to throw it out. It was like eating tomato sauce out of a can with no flavour whatsoever ! it was like eating

A once a favourite stop when in Toronto BUT BEWARE... towards their end of day it is substandard food and espresso. Quality has dropped! Pizza left at a warm temperature for too long (a food industry no-no) "couldn't be heated because the oven was turned off" this was 30 mins before 5pm closing. Sadly I ate a piece of sad pizza and 3 hours later i was ill. If closing hours are at 5pm then be professional right up to 5pm. There's no excuse for selling bad food. All in all I do not recommend Sanremo.

Ultimately nasty experience. Overpriced, overcrowded and nothing special. The fact that we brought our concern to the fact of bad taste and inappropriate promoting the donuts in the shape of male genitals caused some type of abusive messages. Had to block them all together. Got everything we need , way higher quality better price at Rustic Bakery, kids were happy at last to enjoy the fine desserts.

My family, friends and I love this place. We have been going for over 30 yrs. We buy our cold cuts, cheese, bread and sweets regularly and meals as needed. Everything has always been a ten, but since the Mom left, the staff aren't as well mannered. I won't get into all the details, but they don't have the respect or common sense when dealing customers. Even when you point something out. They feel so entitled to do whatever they feeling like. I mentioned it to one of the son's and he wrote it off as "The younger generations, what can we do?" I said teach them. No excuse! Really if the older generation doesn't teach them, what will this world turn into.

San Remo is a sweetheart and darling of TORONTO. Located in Etobicoke it’s an easy drive and right off the highway. This is old school Italian run by 3 brothers who took over the family business. There is passion heart and chaos! But through the lines, which are fast is always friendly service. Everyone goes for the brownies but I head for the hit table and a giant sandwich each and every time. They are have a cute deli for meats, cheeses and gourmet products. What can I say about the bakery except bliss and heaven. Do not miss this gem. Please follow @joannasable on instagram for more food and travel.

The absolute best bakery that I know of so far. I have purchased their donuts and cannoli and they are amazingly the best!! I lived in York region and always make a special trip to Sanremo for donuts and cannoli. It is worth the drive!! Try it and you will never look elsewhere.

The breads and pastries are very good. Pleasing vibe with a diverse selection of Italian staples throughout the space. The hot tables and sandwiches are in demand and deservedly so. Fair pricing. Good brewed coffee and sit down area in corner of storefront. One of our several West end “go to,” places.
