Loved to stop in for lunch. Predictable Swiss Chalet food. Franchisee posted note on the door that after 20 years in this location, they decided not to renew their lease.

This 200 + seater outlet with free parking, did not have even 10% of its capacity for Saturday lunch time. A large space with a maze of booths and basement location of washrooms does not have a very welcoming entrance. Service is good- mainly because at least three waitresses can easily handle the 'crowd'. Food , besides the chickens and... More

The food is delish! The chicken is moist and the dipping sauce is tasty. The BBQ are by far the best I had in a long time. Fall off the bone and zesty BBQ sauce are one of a kind. The French Fries are oh so crisp and tasty.

Swiss Chalet should stick to chicken and ribs. The new roast beef dinner was the worst tasting beef I've ever had and half of what they serve you is pure fat. It was the quality of low end cafeteria food you'd pay half as much for.

Not one of my favourites but I do crave the chicken every once in a while. Had the half chicken with mashed potatoes as the side. I like the selection of sides available. Been to this location on more than one Toronto visit. Will have to give the ribs a try on the next visit.

Ok let me start this review by saying that I live in the U.S. and I love the chalet sauce....love it....so I'm biased. With that said, if you don't care for chalet sauce, the place is a total rip off....it's about $20 for a quarter chicken, fries and a soda. The service is fine....no issues. They used to have specials... More

Service was good, BUT while we never had been to this chain before.. we found no Swiss cuisines on the menu and settled for their beef roast and chicken parmesana, which were highlighted as specials of the day.....we would have done better going to Burger King.. cheaper and better....even though we always prefer something more than a fast food burger

I can't figure out where Swiss or chalet come in, as this seems to be southern food in a simple fast food place. Burgers, ribs, grumpy waitress, that sort of thing. You should like it if you don't expect anything out of the ordinary.

Service was slow (arrived at 1:00 on a Monday afternoon), and the food was just ok. Rating would have been lower, but their nutrition guide is very good for knowing what my daughter with nut allergies could eat, so that is worth a bump up.

This restaurant is right around the corner from Isabella Hotel & Suites. While the food was good, the service could not have been any slower. I'm not one to usually complain about this sort of thing, especially when a restaurant is busy and there are only a few servers. However, this evening, we were only two people ordering and there... Since our doors first opened in 1954, Canadian families have been coming back to Swiss Chalet generation after generation. Our rotisserie ovens only accept fresh (never frozen), grain-fed, Canadian Grade A chickens, because quality is all we know. So what will it be? A Quarter Chicken with fries?

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
