The food was great, the only thing is I would have loved to dine in. Will the Royal Caribbean go back to dining?

I'm very cautious about having Jamaican food as (being Jamaican) the quality isn't usually up to par. Royal Caribbean Cafe was impressive. Food:5/5 - Bammy, festival, snapper, ground provisions, royal fish, giant shrimps Service: 5/5 - Melissa (our server) was wonderful Wait Time: 5/5 -...Food is made to order so it's understandable that there'll be some wait time. Our server brought appetizers out early so we enjoyed red peas soup and festival while waiting. Aesthetics: 4/5 - Lovely space, music wasn't too loud, too many tables so was a bit tight. Would highly recommendMore

I passed by this restaurant at lunch and walked in. I'm a foodie and when I eat out it has to be delicious, but I took a chance on this restaurant before having searched for reviews. Wow, was I impressed!!! The goat roti I had...was so flavourful, well seasoned, and succulent. The roti skin had dhalpourie and was soft and well made. It was a party in my mouth. So good. I'll definitely return when I'm in Toronto next. Healthy proportions and great food. Bravo!More

I have been in the St. Clair area often in recent times and yet I just heard about this restaurant in the last few weeks. My daughter (adult) said we should try it so we did. I had a lovely curry chicken and pumpkin soup...and we enjoyed an appetizer of plantain. Friendly service. She opted for the Jerk. We both enjoyed our meals. Only a couple of comments to consider. The restaurant was a bit cold on a cold winter day and the service was a bit slow. If our server wasn't so pleasant these would have been serious issues. We will try it again, but I hope both of these issues are not repeats. CheersMore

Despite the fact that gift cards and Groupons are honoured pretty much forever, at least at face value, I found out the hard way that gift certificates are not. Despite a family tragedy and an explanation to this restaurant one day after the expiration (sharing...my personal business), no compassion was shown. Not even an offer to honour even a part of the certificate was made (i.e. at a reduced value). I was told to have the person who gave me the certificate call. I informed the person and they called. They received the same response. Sadly, the food at this establishment is supposed to be first-rate. I have heard about it and read about it. However, I shall never know. My friends that were going to accompany us will never know. We will never be able to speak positively about this experience to our friends and family. So, buyer beware. I only hope the restaurant uses the $30.00 they made, for which they didn't provide a service, to charity. That way, at least something positive can come out of it.More

First I'll start with the salad fresh crunchy and very delicious the rice and peas just right the oxtail was delicious...and mouth watering. That meal left me wanting more, not that the meal was not enough but because it was sooo good.More

This is an example of some of the best that Toronto can do, thanks to its multicultural and intercultural community life. Intercultural is a term i learned from Michael Sacco of ChocoSol, who now has a store selling his Oaxacan cacao on St Clair West,...a few doors to the west. He uses intercultural to refer to the trend of people to not only respect and leave people alone with their cultural differences, but also to actively share cultures --what in food is called fusion cuisine. You have it here in the Royal Caribbean Cafe with Jerk chicken avacado salad, Escoveitch fish, ackee bruschetta, all wonderfully prepared. The decor is also tasteful and comforting and the service is fine. Lots of veggie and vegan alternatives, including Ital veggie stew, and several traditional Jamaican dishes and side dishes. Also great carrot drink. I'm coming back, for sure. Wayne RMore
