Great value, great fish. Service was fast and food exceeded expectations. It was our first time trying this place. Fish was tasty and prepared perfectly, fries were a little dry.

We called in the order for pick-up. I was treated friendly and punctual. My wife and I had lunch in the car. The food was very good, considering, but the friendly exchange in these times was most welcoming. I'll recommend this place for the people...first and the food second. They go hand in hand.. I hope to see a line-up around the block in their support. It is that good. Thank you.More
Ok ok it's a fish and chip place, you expect good fish. The halibut is light and flaky and meaty. Oh man. The coleslaw is creamy . The other guests are enjoying their meals and rightly so. Being open for 55 years means something. The...place smells fishy and the bathroom is down in the basement. Service was good. She was nice and attentive. The fries were half cooked and over cooked and undercooked. Would I come again. Absolutely and bring the family.More
Best fish and chips I have had in a while. The decor is great and the place is clean. Staff is friendly and the portions are big and more importantly very fresh. Great spot to try if you love fish and chips.
New management, fresh décor, the food is as good as and probably better than before. The old guy that sold it must feel good about their successful start. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Parking is good out front, across the road and behind, in...the laneway. Again what impressed me the most was the cleanliness and freshness that prevails. Other restaurants in the are should take note!More
First visit here this past week and all I can say is, amazing! The location is spotlessly clean, the staff are wonderful and friendly, the food is just perfect. Started with battered mushrooms and onions rings. The mushrooms were so good we ordered a second...plate! Both my husband and I had the seafood platter which didn't disappoint either of us. 2 shrimp, 2 scallops, fish and large serving of chips with coleslaw. The batter is about as good as it gets, light and the chef knows how to cook it all to perfection. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and the serving sizes. A great place to try and one of the loveliest fish and chip meals we've had in Toronto.More
we have been eating at the Viking for over 25 years now . We live in Waterloo region but regularly drive to the Viking for lunch . It has always been well worth the drive. The food has always been superb, the atmosphere friendly and...welcoming , and Ernie , the original owner is an expert at what he does. For some time now the location has been closed . On Saturday we took a chance and drove there for lunch. To our surprise, the restaurant has been sold and is now being operated by a delightful young man named Colin . When we told him we were long time customers, he assured us that he is keeping the Ernie recipes and techniques. We ordered halibut and chips, and an order of fried shrimp. The food was freshly cooked, piping hot and perfect in every way . The halibut was firm and snow white . The batter light and crisply and perfectly cooked . The chips ( I'm English , they will always be chips ) we also perfectly cooked . Not a hint of grease anywhere . We had coffee and two pots of tea . The tea was made with boiling water and was also perfect . The shrimp were plump and sweet and perfectly cooked. The batter was light and crispy and they were delicious . Colin is delightful, enthusiastic, and a perfectionist and dedicated to keeping the Viking the same wonderful destination it has been since the 1950's. Congratulations to you Colin and to your wife , for keeping the name and the quality. We wish you much success , and will continue our commute for what is without a doubt still the best fish and chips in Ontario .More
not many of the old fish and chipperies left in the city. this one has been here since 1952 it has had a redecorating in recent memory. menu seems to have gone a little a la carte - at one time i think coleslaw came...with dinner. i actually prefer coleslaw in little papw cups....if you areout this way and you want halibut and chips then come on in.More
