You will not be disappointed dining at Bindia. The service is excellent and the food is fantastic. The dishes we ordered were bursting with flavour and the spice level was perfect. A great dinner x 2.
Amazing food! And beautiful atmosphere! Loved the Jazz music that was softly playing in the background!! The Butter Chicken and Curry Chicken was amazing and so satisfying on that cold night!
We visited on a Friday and there was great live jazz. The food was really good and the spice level was perfect for my taste. Good service and a nice atmosphere. I would go back.
Getting into an Indian restaurant for genuine "desi" dishes is a rarity. You have plenty of Indian restaurants in and around Toronto but most of their hardly stir your taste buds either they do not know how to blend spices with other inputs or their...cooking is a big deviation from the traditions. Bindia, however, has been an exception. Lunch on a lean day was not only satisfying but a pleasant reminder the food my mother used to cook on my visits home. Ambience in the restaurant is simple and elegant. Not too crowded, it has a nice seating plan besides provision to enjoy your emails in the open facing the famous Lawrence Market. Grilled fish, butter chicken, channa masala, and naans were all cooked to perfection. Serving was also adequate. It is not only food but the warm and receptive staff made your experience at India memorable. Jyoti, who served us, comes from a village near Jalandhar. She was polite and all smiles as she repeatedly enquired about the quality and quantity of food. It is the personal touch to service that makes it special.More
Great Indian bistro near St Lawrence market. Clean, fresh decor, excellent service, great food and good value. The lamb was very tender and the portion size was good but not excessive.
This restaurant has absolutely amazing Indian food. It is super fresh, flavourful and authentic! The Owner Jyoti, is truly a sweetheart! Will not go anywhere else!!!
We often order from Bindia and like the food. However we dined in the restaurant last week and the food was good but not the medium heat that we ordered. We mentioned this to the server who told us it was medium as ordered not...mild. He refused to acknowledge our feedback. When the bill was presented the order read “mild”. When this was pointed out to the server, again he disagreed, saying the bill was incorrect. Won’t be backMore
It’s a terrific spot- fine dining at reasonable prices, flavours so mellow and delicious, happy service, and great atmosphere. Just go there!
My wife and I were in town for our anniversary and had a wonderful dinner here at Bindia. The service was professional and attentive. The food had great presentation and authenticity. The flavours were rich, mercurial, and pleasing. Looking forward to our next visit!
We ordered through delivery company. Chicken curry and vege eggplant dish + rice. Mild spice was enough .. it was delicious!
We ate on the patio the other nite We love the food but the owner should fire the staff They were so rude we laughed all the way home cause we felt we were in the twilight zone or an SNL skit The waitress with...the red hair has anger issues. The things that were said to us most people would have walked out. The owner definitely needs to address this matter. We will never go back. The guy that sat us down lied to us The red head that serviced us needs to see a psychiatrist and then the third person that told us we had to leave cause next guest were waiting We were there less than an hour Never going backMore
Located alongside the St. Lawrence Market with a shaded patio at dinner hour, this restaurant is worth visiting. The food is well executed and flavourful. The portion sizes are a tad smaller as compared with some other Indian restaurants, but the pricing is fair and...the service is fastMore
After living in the GTA area for two decades, we have moved further away. Four of us were back to the city to spend a quiet weekend, and on the first evening we placed a fairly large order for delivery via SkipTheDishes. Our order consisted...of 3 appetizers, 3 vegetarian dishes, 1 non-veg dish, 1 rice dish, and 2 bread dishes (naan and roti). Service was quick – the order arrived within 30 minutes. However, after opening the two big brown bags, we found that the most pricey item in the order – lamb vindaloo – was missing. We called the restaurant, and after being put on hold for almost 12 minutes, someone bothered to discuss the issue with us. He outrightly denied that lamb vindaloo was missing; he insisted that he personally supervised the packing up of the order and he definitely packed the lamb vindaloo. When we asked how he is so sure, he retorted that it was a slow day and it was the only takeout order they have had that evening. When we insisted that we didn’t get the lamb vindaloo, he accused us of lying. We decided to expose his lie and fib. We asked him for a number for text messaging and he obliged. We took a screenshot of the SkipTheDishes order which listed the 10 items we had ordered. Then we took a picture of the handwritten order inventory stapled to one of the brown bags that listed only 9 items that had been packed – the handwritten list didn’t itemize lamb vindaloo. We texted both the images. Then the games started: 1) After sending the text messages, we tried calling back but it took almost 25 minutes before the same guy picked up and grumpily said that it has been a very busy evening, outrightly contradicting himself. 2) Then he started insinuating that we ‘have photo-shopped and edited the screenshots to get a free lamb vindaloo’! 3) When we laughed him off, he magnanimously announced that he is ‘going to give us a free order of lamb vindaloo, but it is going to take 60-90 minutes and we have to come over to the restaurant to pick it up’. 4) When we ruled it out, he asked us for our address so that he ‘can mail us a gift voucher for $15’. 5) When we ruled it out, he just cut our call off in mid-sentence and won’t pick the phone again. To top it all, food quality was not great either. To confess honestly, the dal makhni was quite good, and the naans were fresh and fluffy. On the other extreme, the rotis were cold and hard like papad, and the bhindi masala was outrightly stale. The remaining items were rather below average by Indian food standards. After a few days, SkipTheDishes did issue us a refund when we sent the screenshots.More
The food is quite flavourful, I can only talk to the vegeterian options and they are relatively good. If you would like extra spice, you just have to ask for it and they will gladly cater for you.
