Waiter over the top schmooze...."korean bbq" - meat tasted of chemicals, a few chopped up veg and bowl of white rice... the waitress tried to talk us in to sharing a desert. Not an all you can eat.... more an all you can't eat. Waste of money.

We were staying in the area for 5 nights. The first night we arrived quite late and Aki Da was one of the few places that would serve us at 10pm. We were the only people in the restaurant and were well looked after. We went back the next night and it was a Friday so it was quite busy... More

Service is great. They go above and beyond to cater to you. The food is okay. The first few bites are delicious...and deceiving. I wish I could say they sacrifice healthy options for taste but it's 0 for neither for me.

Had lunch at Aki Da this week and was pleasantly surprised; a really nice discovery on Queen East. Very reasonably priced lunch menu and huge portions and delicious. The service was excellent, in short I will be back.

Did takeout which consisted of several variations of sushi and sashimi. The mixed nigiri looked OK but the smell indicated we were pushing the limits of the expiry date. The fish also had a chewy hardness often found when the oils and moisture starts to leave the flesh. I also ordered what looked like tuna tartar in their brochure. What... More

Last time I visited this restaurant, it was nothing special. Food was okay but for the price they charge, there's no doubt it could have been better. However, my friends and I stopped by for a small get together and they have stepped up for sure. Their fish seemed fresher this time and food was prompt. We ordered the "perfect... More

Came around since they're having the all you can eat teppanyaki special. Not many Japanese restaurants have teppanyaki (where they cook I front of you) , so we thought it would be a nice experience. We've never done it before so we weren't sure what to expect, but they certainly did not disappoint. We ordered mostly seafood and meats and... More

I agree with a few of the reviews that sometime in the past few years, the quality at Aki Da really dropped. When it did, we changed our go-to local sushi venue. However, we've returned and over the past 3 months have consistently ordered take-out sushi weekly without a single order being below expectation. The quality has really rebounded and... More

This is probably my favorite sushi/sashimi place in the Beaches. I have gone there to eat on my own, with my friends, and with my family and every single meal has always met my expectations. I have only had a chance to talk to the sushi chef a couple of times, but he seems to have observed what I really... More

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
