It was a great discovery for us. The owners were very friendly and the food, unique and flavourful. We decided to try it out because we were in the area for an event and saw the reviews for this place were good. We don't regret one bit and look forward to many more visits.

Had a truly delicious meal here - very glad we made the visit. The location is awkward and so are the opening hours, so we weren't sure. The friendliest service I've encountered in a long time. Spicy, tropical flavours that taste somewhere between East Africa and India. Wine list could be more comprehensive, but the markup is practically non-existent! In... More

The restaurant was a hidden gem in a literal sense. I used to live a few blocks away and walked past it several times a week, and it took me at least two years to realize that this restaurant was open for business. Once I figured out that the restaurant opened only Friday nights and Saturday nights, we became regulars,... More

If you wan to experience something really special then eat at this family run restaurant near Roncesvalles. The atmosphere is cozy and the uniquely spiced seafood and fish are wonderful. The menu also covers vegetarians and meat eaters. The only other way to get Mauritian food is to actually travel to the Island of the Dodo Bird but being in... More

I actually haven't eaten here recently only because I no longer live in Toronto. I miss the Samosas, the Okra salad and the Chicken and Shrimp mine frire. I remember these dishes years later from when I lived in High park going back fifteen years. I am so excited to see Blue bay still kicking and will have to pay... More

Charming elegant ambiance made even more attractive by being open for dinner only on Fridays and Saturdays. The attentive and elegant hostess creates a continental presence of professionalism. The food was exquisite - My friend and I shared the Samosas with a cold Okra/Palm Hearts salad (pictured below in low light) followed by Fish Vendaye with my friend having the... More

I love a surprise! We've been trying to get here as we moved to the area in November, but the hours really are only fri/saturdays. Last night we finally went. Looks like it did when it first opened I'm sure (dated) but it was part of the experience. THE FOOD WAS SO %$#&ing GOOD! Chicken cutlet, okra, curried octopus, the... More

we went here on May 30,2014 with my inlaws and we had such a great time. Simple, relax environment and clean restaurant. From the outside I don't think much of this restaurant and once I entered then I felt I was in a different atmosphere. I tried the fish with ginger sauce and was great. Appetizer I had the samosa... Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
