I have been here a lot over the years and just love the food. The staff is so friendly and and they seem appreciative of the business during this challenging time. Hope they open a satellite restaurant in Muskoka!!!
I came with my family to visit this restaurant and the food was so delicious and the energy of the store was delightful. The quality of the food was excellent and not expensive. The service was incredible and we were amazed by the owners real Greek...hospitality. This place highly recommended for couples, families, and even going solo. Five starts aren’t enough!More
Went there for an early Saturday dinner...had the seafood special for two, would have fed three. Good atmosphere, attentive waiters...very authentic. I would know...my wife is Greek and we go there lots for weekend lunch while strolling the Danforth in Greek town.
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Greek dinner at Christina’s on The Danforth! Their hummus was extra earthy, I believe thanks to a hint of coriander??? The Greek salad looked great but I could barely taste the dressing unfortunately. I had Moussaka for...the first time (meat, not vegetarian) and it was delicious!!! Super tender and tasty, I loved it. Out server was absolutely fantastic and said we could stay for hours as he left the restaurant after his shift ended.
Sadly the restaurant did not agree and turned off the music an hour early before closing time. We were the last ones in the restaurant and felt that we should leave which is unfortunate because I would have liked to have stayed longer. As a result I can only give my experience 3/5. I could forgive the lack of flavour in the salad dressing but feeling kicked out an hour early is kind of unforgivable. We even turned around to say good night and there was no one there. ~ Suzie The FoodieMore
I rated this restaurant as a four on the strength of the opinions of my three companions. They were happy with their food, whereas I was somewhat dissatisfied. To me, Moussaka should be made with a Béchamel topping, not the powdery mystery topping Christina's uses....As well, I would have appreciated the waitress bringing the wine I order, not one of the Greek wines on offer "as a suggestion". That said, she went back and retrieved the desired bottle, so no harm done. Otherwise, service was capable, and portion sizes more than adequate.More
Went with another couple celebrating their 9th wedding anniversary - they liked the web page, none of us had been there before. First impression: loud, large, lots of people, with tables so close together chair backs all but touch one another. Menu is indeed varied:...seafood, appetizers, lamb, salads, beef, spreads. We started with a variety of house spreads (served with kalamata olives, feta and warm pita) - (good, and hi-lite of the meal) - joined soon after by a Greek salad for the table: fresh, but too much oil. Mains included rack-of-lamb and lamb chops. shrimp and a white fish. All were average, most over cooked, but abundant. There were leftovers, but we left them on the table. Whenever we wanted service, there was a long wait, and even asking passing staff to alert our waiter brought a less than helpful response. Music was enjoyable, as was the dancer. Took awhile to get our check.More
We wanted to do the Greek thing on the Danforth, and chose Christina's. Of course the big two are Astoria & Pappas Grill, but wanted to try something new. We had the usual, Saganaki starter and then shishkabobs, me with beef, my wife with seafood....We found the Saganaki to be superior. The shishkabobs were excellent except that the Greek salad was a bit tired, not enough lemon and too much dressing. Greek wine was good. Service was a bit slow, but we ate at prime time.More
So we were headed to a different restaurant when the skies opened up with rain and a parking space opened up across from Christina's. Must have been true Kismet. Christina's was phenomenal. It was our first night in Toronto and our wedding anniversary. The food...was amazing from the tiramasalata to the entrees to the baklava. I am dreaming of going back right now. Our waiter John was a true Greek character who regaled us with great stories and took such good care of us. Please go eat at Christina's. There are many Greek restaurants on the Danforth but this one is really special.More
