Stopped in for tea and biscuits before catching our train home. The staff were so accommodating and the food delicious. They served tea in an actual tea pot!!! There was no rushing or bustling or trying to encourage you finish up. Very relaxed very wonderful

Open to the Lobby, it would be OK to wait for fellow guests. Be careful what drinks you order -- they can be pricey, but the food is both good, and market priced.

The food at Epic was as usual great. Good selection, even for our teenagers. Especially the short ribs, especially good. Great service, waiter was very attentive and was very detailed with the menu choices.

A business friend and I met for quiet conversation. We asked for and received a table conducive to quiet conversation. We both ordered from the Winterlicous menu; this proved to be a good choice. I had the trout and my friend the salmon. All courses were fabulous;we were surprised by some samplers of other items between courses. Service was fast,... More

I went for Winterlicious for a last minute lunch appointment. I picked the restaurant because it is inside a nice hotel and the fact that it is easy to book. The food and the portion size were great. I went with a very fuzzy and demanding, she wanted to change seat and to change her appetizer, that is very common... More

We had dinner here. It started with an amuse bouche of parsnips. I've never been a parsnips person, but it was tasty and got our meal started. We shared the scallops for an app and the waiter was very nice and split the order into 2 plates. They were perfectly cooked with chorizo. Our mains were beef tenderloin and ling... More

The Breakfast Buffet at the EPIC was top notch. Food was of high quality for a buffet and the omelette station made excellent. Service was friendly and quick. Bring some extra coin as this does not come cheap.

Visited this Toronto stalwart expecting it to be stodgy and overpriced. The Winterlicious food was creative, with original flavours that worked well together. The salad worked well, the trout was very nicely set up with the apple and celery, even the tartuffo was good. The service was as fast and as attentive as we wanted it to be.

We went to Epic at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto on our way back from the Boat Show for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon and we were agreably surprised. The place was very busy and the ambiance was nice. There was a guitariste playing and singing. We ate a chicken club sandwich and it was very good. It... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
