Conveniently located in Toronto’s trendy Yonge and Lawrence district, Gamberoni Ristorante, with it’s Old World charm and attendant Staff, provides flavourful Italian cuisine in an inviting, intimate setting. Our newly-renovated upper-level has indoor seating for 45, while the canopied ‘open’ Deck has a capacity of 24. Enjoy specialties such as homemade pastas, provimi veal dishes, a variety of some of the freshest, most delectable Italian Seafood dishes the City has to offer, along with a great selection of fine wines. Having been a long term customer of Gamberoni's, I was surprised how the quality has slid. It used to be a stable local restaurant that we would go to for special occaisions or "just because". The old restaurant across the road had much better atmosphere, but that's the past. As we hadn't been to the new location in a few years, and my mother who had been there recentlly, we decided to retry an old favourite. It was a Friday night, not too late and yet many items on the menu they were out of. The boards too had red tape across familiar menu items, but clearly no long available. The tape was old so clearly the menu items were no longer available for quite some time. The decor looks like the transplanted a few items from the old restaurant, painted a new mural, and then stopped. Perhaps the move from across the street was hasty and they will someday complete the decor. Most importantly, the food. Uninspired, lacking the basics of salt and pepper. Definately not the food they were know for. My food didn't fully meet expectations. The veal was good, the pasta was supposed to be linguine Crostaceo, it was spaghetti from what I could tell, round not flat. While it was hot, it was lacking seasoning unfortunately. The shrimps placed overtop the veal I'm guessing were precooked, too bad, that never would have happened before. Probably the biggest complaint, when a customer chooses an 8oz glass of wine, they expect 8 oz, not 5 oz in a big glass. At $20 for the wine and the meal being $30, it was an extremely poor POUR. Another person's Fettuccine Salmone was so overcooked, the pasta would't roll around the fork. The sauce was bland too and really to much sauce for the pasta. Dessert, oh yeah they were out of that item, but the large table beside us who ordered afterwards got the "last slice" The other dessert was forgotten about and only arrived after our coffees were finished. Hmmmmmm, not a good sign on so many items.

Went tonight for dinner, part of Summerlicious. The food was fantastic, and service was very attentive. I was very excited to see Saltimbocca on the menu, you don’t see it often. We will definitely go back again!

Nice place to eat the Caesar salad is so good the lasagna is good it is located in a good place I enjoyed being at this restaurant

Based on reviews, we were expecting a neighbourhood restaurant with good homemade local foods. When trying to address a food allergy, we were told that the bread, and the pasta were not made in house, and so they couldn’t verify the contents . so much for homemade family cooking. Fresh bread, Contents of which were unknown, looked like it came out of a grocery store .
The misto salad , Supposedly enough for two came in a small bowl and looked like it was a mix from a salad bag. The mozzarella on tomato, were also small pieces of mozzarella.
The signature dish, Gamboni consisted of three overcooked shrimps. The veal Parmesan was uninspiring as was the pasta.
Service was good, atmosphere Pleasant. Very much a disappointment for the $80 per person Tab (which included one drink, and A cappuccino.)

Our go-to local Italian restaurant in Toronto for +20 years! Best muscles appi and veal parm main I’ve had anywhere in the world! Everything else on menu is delicious as well.

This restaurant is located on Yonge St. and has been in this location for many years. The service is friendly and attentive, but the food is unimaginaitve. The bruscetta was served chilled...unpleasant. The mussels were adequate and plentiful. As for the main courses, just about everyone in our party had the same reaction....meh. The prices were reasonable, but not reason enough to return.

From salads to main courses there is nothing that rises above mediocre. A couple of people who ordered the seafood pasta said the seafood was tough and overcooked and the pasta undercooked. Veal was tasty albeit a small portion. The server was attentive, but the food here does not merit a return visit.

Our go to local Italian restaurant for 20 years! Everything is delicious, authentic and fresh. Their muscles appetizers are the best I’ve had anywhere in the world and their veal parmigiana main course is to die for. Can’t go wrong at Gamberoni in our many years of experience.

The food and service were great. The platter for two was yummy! The restaurant had a charming atmosphere. I was surprised that there was an upstairs. Two thumbs up.

I am not one to give poor reviews, but last night, my husband and I arrived with friends who had made a reservation. We were sat down by a server, and another server came over and said "you Peter?" in a harsh voice. We were beginning to think that he was introducing himself, but again he asked, and then said "who sat you!". We pointed to another server. He then told us in a harsh way that this was not our table, and again asked who sat us, despite the fact that we had a reservation. This left us very perplexed and somewhat put off. The server left and another one came to take our order. We looked at each other and asked who the man was who spoke to us so harshly and the server told us it was the owner, who then came back and told us in a very rude way that we would have to change tables. We got up and left. No apology was given. We will never dine there again.

Excellent food, great atmosphere and the way a neighbourhood Italian restaurant should be. Friendly staff, great menu and the specials are definitely worth considering.

We asked for some minor adjustments to the menu items based on the dietary requirements of my 90 year old mother, my teenage children and type-1 diabetic wife. The owner’s response was: you want to change my entire menu! Well, not exactly. Replacing a pasta side dish with extra vegetables did not seem like an extreme request since the restaurant was half empty. The kitchen served the food without the changes we asked for even though the owner seemed to have reluctantly agreed when he was at our table. The food was lovely however the lack of flexibility and harsh response put us off and we won’t be back.

I had such an amazing time with my coworkers at Gamberonis. They were able to accommodate a large group. The food was fantastic, definitely one of the best Italian spots in the city.
The seafood is fresh and cooked right! The appetizers are all amazing, and the fresh pasta is covered in some of the freshest flavourful sauces that I guarantee you will soak up with the bread the give you.
They have an excellent and affordable wine selection!
The patio, though small is a hidden gem.

My family has been coming to this place for 30 years, and it has remained excellent authentic Italian. While traveling in Italy, we only found one restaurant better than Gamberoni. They do pasta and fish best, so I recommend getting one of those.
