I've been here several times and just love this place, excellent food, fast service, open 24hrs. Its and old style 50's diner and the interior has not changed much since. It's clean, and well kept for a restaurant that busy and of that age. The eggs benedict are fantastic, even down to the super tasty side salad, just absolute perfection,... More

I enjoy coming here with my friends mainly for the atmosphere. The food is pretty good but not out of this world. However, I prefer food that isn't so rich. I like the place but they need to fix the seats. I was stuck on the seat with the broken spring so make sure you check before you sit down!... More

I had lived at College & Ossington for 8+ years (long time ago), but never gone to this restaurant. Stopped last night about 6pm as we were going to show at the Dakota. 6pm on a Saturday.....packed to the gills....noisy as all get out.....I had my doubts....! But we were lucky enough to get a cosy both. The place has... More

Stopped by for a post-midnight dinner. The Lakeview is a great midnight hangout. Shakes, booze, bacon-y sandwiches and lip-smacking poutine. It's good food, but the overall experience is what makes The Lakeview great. Next time I stay up after midnight in Toronto, I'll be back.

Yup, yup it was. Six of us at the table - and four had very good food. The other two had good food but not enough (poutine). The prices were reasonable for most things ordered and the service was reasonably quick for such a busy place. Choose what they are known for and soak up the ambience and the opportunity... More

I think this place is over rated. This was my second visit. We waited 20 minutes to get a table then another 45 minutes for our food. I had their famous corn flake chicken sandwiches and was disappointed, Food was just ok and service was less than acceptable.

Come here once in awhile. Decent all day breakfast. Reasonably priced for th portion. Sausages a bit greasy. Coffee is good. Service hit & miss. Washrooms dirty! Open 24 hours.

Our expectations were not phenomenally high as we've been here several times before with family and young folks. The experiences previously were mediocre but we were in the neighbourhood. The salad had the sharpest dressing ever; I could have cut the plate with the acidity. That spoiled the few beets, nuts and goat cheese. The goats shoukd not be too... More

We wanted somewhere to have brunch and had this place recommended to us by a local. We were lucky to get in just before what seemed to be a rush period this particular day at 11am. The menu was quite extensive and we were pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices. We were also told to try the Apple Pie Shake..OMG..yummo!... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
