I was searching for a good restaurant around Yonge and Eglinton to have lunch with a special friend. Amore means love, so I decided to try it. I walked in and was quickly seated and served bread and a bottle of water. While waiting for my friend I looked around and noticed a wood burning oven. They make great pizza's.... More

The grilled calamari on greens was mediocre, with a poorly matched creamy dressing. The only cabernet by the glass was not dry...almost sweet. I decided not to order anything else as it was a waste of time and money. Also, the restaurant needs freshening. The mats on the floor are worn and dirty. The rest is tired and worn. It... More

We were greeted warmly. Our server Elie was at the table as soon as we were seated. The wine list gives sufficient choice and is reasonably priced. The margheritta pizza that we shared as an appetizer was well cooked with a thin crust. My main, chicken Fantasia, chicken breast stuffed with spinach and red peppers in honey mustard cream sauce... I live in this neighbourhood and Amore is an excellent little local Italian restaurant. The food is quite good and appropriately priced. Its a comfortable place to dine that isn't too stuffy. Friendly staff and fantastic gluten free -spelt- pizza, a great place to go for dinner.

I had simple French toast with bacon. The bacon tasted burned although it was not, so I can only imagine the cooking oil had not been changed. The French toast would have been great if it had actually been dipped in the egg mixture, instead I had a thick layer of scrambled eggs coating the bread. the two waitresses working... More

Had a delicious liver dish in this place and it was the best. I love liver and choose to eat it if it is on the menu but sadly most places do not serve it anymore. Great flavor and delicious sauce.Excellent service!

Dropped in for lunch...the service was good but the seafood pasta was bland, the calamari was like rubber, over cooked. The mini scallops were also over cooked. They tried it again, but not much difference the second time around , maybe less watery but still no flavour. Such a great dish if properly prepared...I must say the chef needs some... More

We had lunch here on the way to run some errands and I have been here before a few years ago. I was not impressed with the food or the atmosphere. The seafood was slightly stale and the salad was not very fresh, it was very surprising to see a place in the middle of the city that doesn't try... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
