Whenever I'm in Toronto there is one place I never...never...miss; that is breakfast and/or lunch at the Avenue Open Kitchen. Probably multiple visits. Comfort food at it's best.

Mac and cheese to die for! Very fresh pastrami sandwich and home fries. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere, buzzing but relaxed. The toilet is bad though. So bad it was kind of funny.

We were looking for a quick simple meal and came across this little gem. Our service was very nice and the food was delicious.

Great old-school diner just off Spadina Avenue. Except for a few modern conveniences like taking credit cards, seemingly unchanged since it opened. Ate breakfast here, and the food was very good. Good prices, too.

It's real diner, no frills, plain and simple and this is awesome. Because 1) The price reflects this, super value priced and 2) They take online and phone orders and at lunch the place is a stream of people making pickups from the tech-zone businesses...More

Delicious food, great value, attentive serving staff and cook created a fun experience. Western sandwiches were thick and perfectly made with real ham. Home-made lentil soup was rich and flavourful. Recommend this place highly.

No frills. Honest food. Honest prices. The cook steals the waitresses hot water to make the soup. The waitress moans that he never fills the pot back up and that’s why there is no hot water for the tea. I think this tiff happens every...More

I love breakfast, and I especially love it here. It simply smacks of a great little diner, but the way a diner should be...a bit gritty and with a cook on the grill in front of you, concerned about making you a great meal, fast....More

I work in the area and it is by far the best quote on quote 'diner' in the area. Pros: amazing open kitchen concept, friendly old school staff, reasonable prices (especially daily specials) & great food all around. Cons: small dining area (good luck getting...More
