Not too fancy to be stuffy, just right. Good quality and relaxed, cozy atmosphere makes this restaurant a preferred location. Tasty food. Servers were consistently topping up water and making sure guests were alright. Good sized desserts as well!

Step back to the 80's or 70's in the decor as you walk in. Very formal and family operated. All Covid regulations managed well. Food was tasty with a broad selection of fare.
Support the local places that have been around providing the area with great meals for a long period of time! A very good local family steak house with a huge selection on the menu from Greek to pasta to seafood etc. Food was flavourful with...large portions, and came out in a timely manor Service was knowledgeable, really friendly gave us nice options. I'd go back anytimeMore
We have been ordering delivery for the past year and 3 months, everything we have ordered has been perfect. Just pick menu items that will deliver well. Lovely food and get delivery service. Thank you Helen and George xo
Top notch steak, great wine selection, highly professional waitstaff. Prices are well below what you'd expect to pay at a fine dining establishment. Plenty of plaza parking.
Since our last review, thought we’d try this restaurant again, my daughters request for birthday celebration. Very cold reception upon entering, had to ask for appetizers, pickles which are usually out once water is poured. Food was good with exception of my daughters who found...a hair 3/4 way through her dinner. They did remove the cost from the bill. The chef is excellent there. If you have a bad experience and rate then, they’ll hold it against you so better off severing all ties.More
Came here for the first time in mid March. Outside did not look pretty. As soon as I stepped in, it smelt amazing! The family run restaurant of 25 years has great service and food. Very comparable to The Keg. I got garlic bread, NY...striploin, and onion rings.More
The restaurant is situated in a short strip mall next to a meat market with plenty of parking. Once seated we were given a complimentary dish of pickles with bread and we ordered drinks. There is a short but sufficient alcohol menu. If you check...on line you can print off a complimentary appetizer, we selected the bruschetta and garlic bread and both were very tasty. There is a good selection of food groups and orders were placed for steak, veal cutlets and pasta. No complaints. You have a choice of soup or salad with your meal. The salads could use more imagination as the chopped lettuce was drowned in dressing. Ask to have your dressing on the side. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall the atmosphere was conducive to quiet conversation without intruding on other tables. Manager did approach our table inquiring if all was to our satisfaction and socialized on our way out. A pleasant dining experience.More
We celebrated a birthday for my daughter on Sunday June 3. There were 9 people in our party. We have been to this restaurant on several occasions and in most cases we have had wonderful service as well as delicious food prepared to our specifications....Twice we've been disappointed in the last few months. The first time we called with a issue, it was when one member of our family was severely sick just after leaving the restaurant. He was absolutely fine before arriving. He did mention the sauce that came with his seafood dinner was slightly off and stopped using it immediately. When I called about what happened, the person I spoke to insists it was NOT the sauce as all ingredients are purchased and prepared fresh daily. There is a slim chance it may have been something else, but as she did not actually prepare the sauce herself and didn't guide it all day in case someone stirred it with a contaminated utensil leaves me to believe that the message was not even passed on to the kitchen staff. The second time was just a few days ago. The server made several errors when taking care of our party. The first issue was when she removed appetizer plates without asking if we were done. And one person was not done. The second was when she collected the appetizer plates, she tried to collect plates and soup dishes for all 9 of us at once and ended up spilling balsamic salad dressing on 2 people. My daughter had a napkin on her lap so she was ok ( other than the large stain on the table cloth in front of her) and also dripped a considerable amount down the shoulder and sleeve of my sons shirt. The third was when taking our orders. 3 of us ordered the ribeye steak. One was to be medium and two were to be medium rare. Two were fine and one of the medium rare came well done. She just stood there when we told her and asked my daughter to keep cutting in different places to see if it was actually something other than medium rare instead of just taking away the plate and dealing with the error. When she came back, they were out of the ribeye steak and she had to either eat that one or order a strip loin instead and that would take at least 10 minutes to cook. We would no doubt all be almost done by the time she got her meal. The fourth issue was when my daughter's cake came out with sparklers, we all sang and the cake was removed even before the sparklers were done. The cake went into the kitchen, sliced and given to everyone without even asking if we wanted a piece. Some were full and didn't want dessert. Taken by surprise because as one of our favourite restaurants for special celebrations, we now have to search for another. D. SharpMore
May 13, 18. There for Mothers Day and father's b-day (same day). Menu had 1/2L $19 and full 1L $33 for each white and red. After ordering 1L of red was informed $ were per bottle, not per 1L and menus were out of date....Though I could get a half litre?!? I naturally protested to the waitress that it was pretty standard stuff for a steak place to have 1/2 and 1L and that the price suggested that's what it was and not for a bottle (only $2 cheaper than reg. bottle). Issue was not properly resolved, even after speaking w Manager. Was offered a house bottle at $29 - and not wanting to detract any further from our outing took it. After this, waitress was curt if not rude, like I had done something wrong. Steak was properly cooked and meal was fine. Though that's not what I will remember. Will remember having to haggle over house wine while my family waited. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Next time... Keg!More
This restaurant has a nice ambiance and quite cozy. I found the escargot appetizer to be something that needs to be shared as it is quite and overkill for one. The Caesar salad was nicely made and crisp. The tenderloin medallions with green peppercorns was...quite salty. But the cut of meat was tender and juicy. They ran out of the fruits in season and the ice cream was low grade and not creamy.More
Went there with family. Waitress was excellent. The mix of Bruschetta & garlic bread was wonderful. My ribs were tasty with a tomato based sauce. Specials were good. They serve appetizers, salads, fish, steak, chicken, desserts. Wheelchair accessible except for the washroom which is in...the basement. Very good meal. Will definitely go back.More
You walk into a musty smelling dungeon. You wait over an hour for inedible food. Steak (and everything else on your plate) was drowned in watery wine sauce. Staff not attentive and quite rude. Waitress actually argued over how a steak was done! Entire meal...was disappointing and WAY overpriced!More
Food overpriced. Service slow. 1 1/2 hours before we had our meal. Fish overcooked. 1 out of 5 of us enjoyed their meal. No one seemed to care if we enjoyed our meal or not.
Food is great at the The Blackhorn. I had not been there for a few years, but decided to celebrate there last Friday. The Greek cuisine is delicious with generous servings. I had beef stroganoff 'simply delicious ', I could not eat it all; my...buddy had prime rib to die for; dill pickles and garlic bread all around. The decor is typical dark wood steakhouse. George and Helen are very welcoming making you feel like part of the family. I recommend you try Blackhorn, the food will not disappoint you. Full bar available, and a party room downstairs. D.
