This is my second visit in the last few weeks. Every dish was perfectly prepared and the servers were very good. The 1st time I had the veal 10 oz chop. WIth vegetables & patate Arrosto, my colleague had a pasta and scaloppine. The 2nd...visit I had salade, SCALOPPINE AI FUNGHI & patate Arrosto - yes I like their potatoes, so very good. Both time with deserts that were excellent. It is not inexpensive at $ 60 each pp. without wine. It is well worth the cost and I will be going again. Giovanni the manager knows how to run a restaurant and keep the customers happy. A almost a secret gem of a Toronto restaurant. Go you will thank me.More

I had dinner at Boccaccio. We were 5 people in total. Service was good at first. All appetizers were great. No complaints from anyone. Main entree was fabulous. Taste and portion size was perfect. All 5 people in my party were pleased with their meal....Dessert was also very good. Service was good during our meal, however after we were served our dessert, we were “forgotten “ for about 45 min. It was a very busy night but at least check up on us to see if we needed anything else. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. I would go back.More

I went to dinner there Saturday. Celebration birthday dinner. Firstly, they did not have my reservation. Luckily the accommodated our patry of four. They did have a large party and it was a bit loud. We placed our order, but it was a bit slow...in coming out. Our appetizer was cavoli fritti which was very good served with a red pepper sauce. I had rack of lamb and others had pasta verdura and veal chop. It took a while coming out and we had to eat quickly as we were late for a show. So we did not have time for a dessert. All in all good food but a bit slow with service. Allow a least two and a half hours for dinner!More

My wife's hairdresser, who is Italian, recommended this retaurant located in the Cdn-Italian Cultural centre. Tried it out during the Summerilicious festivities and had a wonderful three course meal for $33. Good size portions and food quality was excellent. Decor and room could use a...refresh but servers were very professional and chef definitely knows his/her "stuff"! Sirlion steak was excellently prepared and tender. Pork dishes was very good. Dessert which was lemon tiaramuse. Our server indicated menu changing in September with some pre fixe dinners will be returning FOR SURE.More

Don't let the location throw you off, it's an excellent restaurant you'll enjoy. In a nutshell - service is excellent....meal was very good - and a equally good wine list all sensibly priced. I have been to Boccaccio three times now and always enjoyed a...fine meal - but more particularly - enjoyed excellent, attentive service.More

Visited yesterday for lunch with friends. We ate 3 different meals. Three of us had penne with vodka sauce, two had linguine with shrimp and one hah gnocchi with a white wine sauce. We all cleaned our plates and declared them delicious. The waiters were...friendly and very attentive. We plan to meet there again in a month or so. One of our party is a resident of Villa Columbo and is in a wheelchair. From the Villa there is a very negotiable path to the restaurant. A big plus for everyone!More

Boccaccio is housed at the Columbus Centre and although not very popular (at least on my visits) the food and service is excellent. The dishes are very well presented and the taste is very European. Herbs are very well utilized to give a unique taste...to every dish. Staff is very efficient and helpful in selecting dishes. Well worth the visit.More

It was an impromptu dinner. We were expecting to meet someone who was unexpectedly late for a short meeting. When he called to say he would be late, we decided to get some dinner at Boccaccio. Neither of us was dressed appropriately for the fine...dining experience of Bocaccio and we said so to the Maitre d', to which he explained, "you both look wonderful to me," while sporting a great smile. The was a great start to our unexpected dinner date. The food came quickly and the service was exceptional and very friendly. It was delicious. Vittorio - the Maitre d' - made it a special night. The person we were meeting showed up, and he too was welcomed with a smile. What a gem of a place, and what delicious food in a very elegant restaurant. Thank you to Vittorio and Boccaccio Restaurant. We will definitely come again.More

This gem of a place in Columbus Centre is a must if you like fine dining as it should be. The cuisine is Italian and tastefully done by the master chef ! In general, bulk of their menu items are pretty good but in my...opinion, their veal items are particularly special. Even the vegetables like beans and cauliflowers are very tastefully done! The ambiance of the restaurant is great with paintings and statues. The tables have white table cloth and background music is discrete. It is also an excellent place for business lunch. The friendly conscientious serving staff of Vittorio ( a close resemblance to Hollywood actor Omar Sharif ) and Roberto are attentive but discretely in the background, addressing the needs of the guests. There is ample metered parking in the back if the restaurant parking lot is full. Highly recommend this hidden gem!More

Toronto has its Summerlicious and Winterlicious restaurant festival, which is like NYC Restaurant Week, where you can have a fabulous prix fixe meal (three courses, including dessert) at one of over 200 restaurants. This year, since I didn't have a $2,600 car repair bill (LOL...-- funny, not funny), I had a few dollars left to treat myself. I had been wanting to check out this fabled, nearly 40-year-old restaurant near me for some time. What propelled me to choose Boccacco (called Ristorante Boccaccio, if you look it up) was the fact that not long ago, they were going to tear it down to build an even bigger centre for Italian seniors, a school and other elements. The restaurant is located inside the Columbus Centre, on the lower level; the Centre is a focal point for the Italian community. It features an athletic centre, art gallery and much more -- including this incredible restaurant. Its stay of execution was the reason I chose it over the other 200+ eateries. Just like Joni Mitchell sang, "you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone," I was spooked by the fact I hadn't been there. It's been getting RAVE reviews for years. I walked in and found the restaurant atmosphere European and calming, with ferns and statues scattered throughout, and tasteful framed black and white photographs on the walls. My $23 prix fixe meal consisted of an incredible shaved fennel & citrus salad with olives; shrimp and zucchini risotto; and watermelon-mint sorbet. The salad was delightfully piquant and flavourful, and warm (I believe the main ingredients -- fennel, grapefruit and orange -- were lightly braised before the vinaigrette was added), preparing me for the rich main course redolent of butter, cream, cheese and herbs. The shrimp chunks in the impossibly creamy risotto were perfectly cooked, not tough or stringy. And the watermelon sorbet was the perfect finish, cooling with a hint of mint to balance the richness of the main course. A great choice of appetizer, entree and dessert for an unbelievably hot and humid day (you could choose from three offerings for each course). They have a terrific regular lunch and dinner menu as well (not overpriced -- great food at middle-of-the-road prices, for Toronto). The staff was amazing, most notably Vittorio and Roberto, who were the main servers and made sure my meal was delicious and relaxing. (Note to summer visitors: They are closed for vacation from August 7 to 20, 2018 inclusive.) One more thing: Yes, this restaurant is located in mid-town, south of Highway 401, at Dufferin & Lawrence, not near the downtown core, where most of the city's best dining establishments are located. But as a bonus, be sure to visit Yorkdale Mall, one of the country's best shopping centres, just a few blocks north of the restaurant, to walk off your meal. So you now have another reason to dine here!More

I went there with my husband. It's located inside an italian centre, it is hard to see it and it feels a bit like a bunker when you are inside as the windows are covered not to see the parking lot. Despite being a Friday...night, only another table was there. I asked the waiter about the wines but he was a bit clueless. The food was served cold and we could have prepared the same at home, but at least the sauce of the gnocchi was tasty. The trio of desserts was terrible : le cheesecake must have been in the fridge unprotected for few days and impossible to eat, I didn't touch the truffle as it was very unappealing. I told the waiter about the cheesecake and he apologized and asked me if I wanted another dessert or a limoncello, I refused but it was a nice commercial gesture and I appreciated his reaction. Overall we did not have a good experience and I would expect a better Italian restaurant for an italian centre.More
