The place doesn't look like a palace. But the quality of he food is there! The chef knows to make us happy with a real Indian food. And the service was perfect! Good place to come and to come back !!!

Probably the best Indian food in Toronto! It was our first night in town so we wanted somewhere local to the Grand Hotel (and fancied Indian food). This place did not disappoint. From the minute we arrived the staff were tentative and could not do enough for us. Good selection of local beers and the obligatory 'Tiger' beer served in... More

We have not been to this place in years and today we thought to give it a try. Ordered online and it said pickup in 30 mins. We showed up 40 mins later and the server didnot even pick up the order from the fax/printer (who uses these obsolete methods??) and get it to the kitchen. He told me it... More

Food is great, never expected a god indian food this part. They serve freshly prepared curries and rotis. Service is good and value for money. They have a good choice of Indian dishes. recommend this restaurant.

Hi No problems with the food , maybe the appetizer platter a little greasier than normal . Service was friendly but big gaps between apps and main and giving us hot plates ( went cold) and serving and getting the nan bread ( almost finished mains): I'm guessing the kitchen was short staffed . Place is very tired and no... More

Thank you for your feedback. We have noted your observation and have started to work on this. Our endeavor is to renovate our place in time ahead. While it is not an excuse but It is challenging to operate from within a building which is approximately 120 years old and a premise functioning as a restaurant since 40 years. However, we have been making... This place is amazing. Was introduced through work a year ago when we went for our staff holiday lunch. I had always stayed away from Indian food as I wasn't familiar and thought I wouldn't like much of it. The buffet is great, there is a large variety of items to choose from. The restaurant is large and clean (and... More

The staff at Bombay Palace are among the kindest people I've ever met! The care and attention they bring to their food and to their clients is exceptional. The samosas and spring rolls are my favourite, absolutely delicious and always extremely fresh!

My husband had been raving about this place for 8 months, but I always had my doubts as I was in India and just assumed it to be a compromise in a foreign land. I am ready to take my words back after finally being in this place and having my first taste of the delicious food by Bombay Palace.... More

The welcome is warm, and the food is good. This restaurant offers a generous buffet at lunchtime, and a pleasant, low-lit dinner service. Especially in the evening, when the lights are low, the atmosphere is very charming, and I felt very relaxed as soon as I sat down after a very busy day. It's a good place to wind down... More

I opted to have the buffet at the restaurant as the same things were available on the a la cartel menu option. So the variety was not too bad, but the quality was quite bad. It was not one of the best but it was one of the worst that I've eaten in a while.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
