Fantastic view, great atmosphere, friendly enthusiastic service but above all top notch food and wine pairing. We had the tasting menu and well chosen wines (particularly halibut and BC Chardonnay) and while not cheap offered good value for some outstanding cooking. We particularly loved the oyster (our waitress said she would happily wolf down half a dozen!), the sweetbreads and the halibut but there was nothing that was below outstanding. Lovely Mexican and super waitresses enhanced the experience and the evening view is to die for! Go if you can!

Wonderful venue. My wife and I went for our 25th wedding anniversary. I told the venue that is why we were visiting and they gave us a table with a wonderful view of the CN Tower. On our table was a card waiting for us wishing us a wonderful 25th Anniversary. Our server greeted us by wishing us a happy anniversary and getting us both our first drink within what felt like seconds of us arriving. Our meal was sublime and up there with some of the best food I have had anywhere in the world. The whole experience was so good we returned for another fantastic meal 2 days later. If you are in Toronto you myat visit. The prices are reasonable and much better than the price you will pay for food that is nowhere near as good if you use the restaurant on the CN tower. Simply a must if you enjoy good food and service

The restaurant was only offer tasting menu recently, every dish was beautiful and delicious also. The most important part was views of Canoe, looked at Lake Ontaril from windows with your cocktails with your wines. This is the unique attraction of the Canoe restaurant All waiters are male they are enthusiastic. Share with you pictures I took, views, dish and CN Tower. Hi Canoe, thank you very much for everything, we see you next time.

Canoe is a spectacular location - beautiful interior on 50th floor, sophisticated with an amazing view of Toronto and CN tower. There’s a definite expense account, proposal or anniversary vibe. While they used really fresh local ingredients unfortunately in the effort to push gastronomic boundaries they lost sight of what matters - how the dish tastes. Our onion soup was served in an onion with what looked like a 3 in hollowed out tree branch. The soup was unlike any other since it didn’t appear to contain onions, bread, or cheese. It looked interesting but I guess there’s a reason the world uses the classic recipe. Visually a 10, taste 5. My main was an elk loin. Cooked perfectly but unfortunately under seasoned. Everything else on the plate was a disappointment; it just didn’t add anything. Taste does matter at this price. This place could be amazing if there was just more attention to what’s really important - taste.

This has to be the biggest farce in the Toronto dining scene. So sad. What was once the pinnacle of great service (first and foremost) coupled with excellent food, has become a beacon of mismanagement and absolutely horrible service. How a restaurant can ruin a happy person's birthday dinner is beyond comprehension. This happened about a year ago and I think I have already posted about our night there in Oct of 2019 but seeing some of the negativity on here reminded me of that terrible dining experience. I hope they have learned something in the past year.

If ever you want to go to a restaurant in snow storm, this is a great place to go. The restaurant is located in a building where there are a ton of lawyers offices… I have never seen so much salt at an entrance in my life 😊 This restaurant is a bit confusing to find as there is no exterior restaurant signage. However you know your headed to the 54th floor so you’re quiet aware you’re looking for the buildings elevators 🛗 The restaurant ambiance is nice. It was quite stormy when we went but it was still nice to look out at whatever view was available. The waitress seemed sort of judgemental at the beginning as we weren’t ordering alcohol drinks and wanted more time to decide exactly what we wanted. I got the feeling she thought we were cheap people that just came to check out the view. When she realized we ordered over $200 worth of apps/mains/dessert etc she seemed to warm up and talked more to us and she even took our photos Food presentation was alright, food taste overall was nice, however I was surprised they put a huge blob of mustard on the plate with steak, throughout the entire meal I had to manoeuvre around the mustard, and the parts that got on the steak was quite strong, almost to strong ( the mustard should always be on the side and give the patron the choice if this should be on the plate) my opinion There isn’t a lot of privacy between tables, so don’t come here thinking you’re going to make confidential business deals. 😂 If your walking with crutches or canes keep in mind the type of floor they have was quite slippery even without water on it. Lastly I don’t think the chefs table was anything special. It faces the kitchen, you have to look behind you or over to side to have a look at the view outside. We have gone to other chefs tables at other establishments and when you paid extra you felt you got something extra ie more privacy, a better view etc. this isn’t the case here.

With Toronto's abundance of great restaurants, I haven't been to Canoe in a long time. During the pandemic the table spacing and interactions seemed appropriate. The food is good, but I do think you could have the same at a somewhat lower price point elsewhere in the city. I think my main was about $68 plus dessert later for under $20. We shared some apps which I don't remember the pricing for. The GOOD: the views are amazing and the food is great too. It's a great place for special occasion. The BAD: They let people in wearing track pants and sweats. I was appalled. I was there for an extremely special occasion and seeing people in sweats and shorts was appalling. I'm not sure if these people were tourists or what, but frankly, they should NOT let people in who aren't wearing PANTS!!!! When I'm paying for food at a certain price point and expectation I don't wanna see shorts and sweats around me. You should have turned those people away.

The restaurant offers a great view of the city if you manage to get the right table but apart from that, there isn't a lot that is special about it. The menu is limited which typically isn't a problem if the food is flavourful. In this case, the food was quite tasteless - we ordered several dishes across all courses - and remained disappointed throughout. The portions also are small and the service is less than satisfactory. Our server for one could barely manage to smile throughout the 2 hours we were there. When you take all that in and look at the steep prices, it just doesn't seem worth it.

This is an upscale restaurant with a great view and an interesting menu of modern international character with some Canadian twist (local game and fish). As a foreigner, one might have liked even more of these Canadian ingredients, but as it is, the cuisine is near perfect. So was the wine that came with the tasting menu (there were two choices accompanying the tasting menu, at 100 or 200 CAD, we chose the first option): international (some Canadian wine, too), and some combinations were remarkable (all were really convincing). Service is formal, but with a personal touch (never too much: the perfect balance). One smaller slip (one white wine not cold enough; however, it was so good it could stand up to that) was immediately and gracefully acknowledged. The charm (and competence, especially with the wine: there was no separate sommelier) of our waiter significantly added to the experience - which has its price, but is worth it. Plus: splendid view!

Very disappointing lunch with family. Service was good BUT most of the food was mediocre if not poor. Overcooked dried out halibut and tough strip steak. Very unusual sides. A table of 5 people only received a basket with four slices of bread. Very little ambience…large round table with no placemats, tablecloth or flowers. Luckily it was a sunny day and the view was spectacular. Much more is expected from a Bonacini restaurant with those prices.

My family has dined at high end, fine dining establishments throughout the world. Canoe falls miserably short. The good news is that the food is good. Not great but solid. The bad news is that service was lacking and even laughable at times. We watched as the wrong food was brought to the wrong tables on numerous occasions, including ours. One of us was asked if we wanted another drink but not both of us even though we both had empty glasses. We were celebrating my wife's birthday tonight. There was absolutely no acknowledgement of it by our server. Ever. The table had a cheap pre-printed "Happy Birthday" placard on it. There was no amuse bouche. No petit fours after dinner. NO attempt at celebrating my wife's birthday. I'm happy to spend $500 USD on dinner but it will never be here again. Sad state of affairs at Canoe. Mediocre experience at best. And, your view doesn't make up for your shortcomings this evening.

Made a lunch reservation for Canoe, which is high up in TD tower. Views were gorgeous and it was a clear day. Varied cocktail menu. We ordered the foie gras appetizer (they turned it into a pate and it diluted the richness of the foie gras - to its detriment really). There were so many flavors and textures it was too much! For lunch we ordered the Cornish game hen (hen was juicy and cooked perfectly) and the braised lamb shoulder (it was okay). Quite a filling lunch so we skipped dessert. Pricey. Had high expectations-4 stars.

Stellar dining experience at Canoe, for a very memorable evening. The waitstaff, CHEF, kitchen staff, and support staff were very accommodating, happy, professional, and to say the least, VERY well versed with the menu. An iconic Toronto dining experience…! …will be back. They are on the TOP of the culinary game, in Toronto … #pushon , as their leader appropriately conveys.

While I am frequently here for cocktails and meetups with friends, it's dinner that makes for a special evening. The duck was great. The elk was great. The small plates from the comfort menu (can never go wrong with mac & cheese) were a hit. Service is always bang-on. Always high on my list of recommendations. Try for table 01 for the view of the city and the kitchen!

Dining at Canoe in Toronto was a culinary journey that celebrated Canadian cuisine and the art of fine dining. The restaurant’s location on the 54th floor offered breathtaking views of the city skyline and Lake Ontario, setting the stage for an exceptional meal. The menu was a tribute to local ingredients and creative combinations, highlighting the diversity of Canadian flavors. The tasting menu was an exploration of innovative dishes and exquisite presentations. The staff’s deep knowledge of the menu and their dedication to providing impeccable service made the dining experience truly exceptional. Pairing the dishes with selections from the extensive wine list added to the overall enjoyment. Canoe is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Canada’s culinary heritage and a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience in Toronto.
