Out for dinner the other night. Great food and good service my only complaint was the noise level was not good. Will definitely come back in the future
I and a friend went to Casa di Giorgio for lunch about a month ago and both food and service was the absolute best 5 star. Last night another friend and I were strolling around the Beach looking for a nice place for dinner on...a patio and as she loves Italian I suggested the same place as I had such a wonderful experience the last time. Upon arrival we were told there were only available tables inside (note that we did not have reservations) and as we wanted patio shrugged, thanked the host, started to walk away and he immediately said running after us if you can wait 10 -15 minutes we can have a seat on the patio for you. We thought this was a bit strange but we were thrilled they could take us and said yes we would wait. We were finally seated and to my delight our server recognized me from a month ago which was astonishing and flattering considering the traffic they must have and we placed our orders for appetizers and mains at the same time. I had ordered the eggplant appetizer and when it was served it was barely warm and cold in the middle. As I was hungry I ate half of it anyway and asked for a takeout box for the rest thinking I'll just heat it up at home. My friend ordered pasta as her first course and was very disappointed that the pasta tasted like hard box pasta and not home made. Service was slow but as it was a busy Saturday night I can't fault them for this. Our mains were finally served and while mine was absolutely delicious (veal in the lemon sauce) it was served with only two tiny baby potatoes cut in half to my shock. I pointed this out to my server who did immediately bring me more potatoes but I was surprised that I even had to ask as the meal although not super high end priced was not on the cheap side either and 2 baby potatoes is ridiculous. Both of our mains were otherwise well prepared, served hot and were delicious. We asked for separate bills and this is where is got really strange. We both paid cash and my friend asked for her change back (so she could leave an appropriate tip) and the server brought her back all of the money excepting $10 was missing and waited for her to pay her bill. My friend asked why he would bring back the entire amount instead of just what was left after paying the bill and also there was $10 missing to which he denied. She had to count out the money on front of until he finally admitted his mistake but leaving my friend feeling extremely uncomfortable and mortified. As I was also paying cash I stipulated to the server that I was paying the bill and only wanted the change back so I could leave an appropriate tip so as to avoid any confusion which he seemed to understand. If it was my friend writing this review, I am sure she would only give it a 1 star as she was definitely not satisfied with either the food or service but as it is myself I give a 3 star as although service was not perfect it was a busy Saturday night, we did not have reservations and the little issue my friend had when paying her bill was just a gap in communication and quickly rectified, however, there is never any excuse, no matter how busy a restaurant is, in serving food that's cold in the middle or, especially for an Italian restaurant, to serve box instead of home made pasta or to skimp on food portions to the point of ridiculous (come on 2 "baby" potatoes!!!) hence why I am giving what I think is a generous 3 points for this visit. My friend will not be going back again ever while I will give it another try but will definitely not be ordering the eggplant or pasta!!!More
Valentine's day and Descendant and other go to's were sold out (!) so we ordered from Casa di Giorgio. I've been in the beaches for 20 years and am just discovering what a gem this place is. We ordered two pizzas and a pasta and...it was all delicious and arrived in good shape. Looking forward to a time when we can visit in person.More
We had a family gathering before Christmas and decided to have it catered by Casa di Giorgio and it was great. Now in these challenging times in our wonderful City we ordered enough pasta and meatballs to last us a couple of days and again...great food. Check it out. Take good care.More
Took our friends here for dinner just before Christmas. Service was great and the food was awesome. The calamari comes grilled or fried. We chose fried that evening and it was hot and delicious. We ordered the Risotto, seafood pasta, pasta special of the day...and the lasagna. All were large portions, hot and flavourful. The wine list is small but well sorted and not outrageously priced. The owner,Ted is accommodating and his senior wait staff, helpful and aiming to please. This is a small restaurant that has a large seasonal patio. They have a small parking lot and there is street parking on Queen. Highly recommended!More
Went here last nite for supper with husband, He had the Steak and I had the seafood pasta, paid $7. for 4 pieces of bread with cheese on it, they were about 1 inch by 2 inches. everyone else got a basket of bread ,before...meal and even between , not us, I ask for a alfrato sauce instead of a red sauce. The waiter said oh you want a white sauce, and that is what I got. not alfratio like I asked. Was not offered and bread, or salad. My husband asked about choice of potatoe, but was told it came with only one type and vegs. no choice. The potatoes were over cooked and hard. This meal came to over $80. for the two of us, no wine etc. just a tea and pop. .Over price and should have had a choice of potatoes, and maybe a salad offered with some bread, this is surpose to be a Italian restaurantMore
We go here when we want Italian comfort food, and it rarely disappoints. Food is great, service generally good, although can be a bit inconsistent..
My wife and met a few friends for dinner. One of which has dined there many times. We where not disappointed at all. We had a shrimp pasta, everything was cooked perfectly and the server was genuinely interested in making our experience wonderful.
This establishment was very welcoming and our food was amazing ! The generous portion of salmon and risotto really hit the spot!
Found the place near the Beach Theater. It is not to big , but the atmosphere is the best. Everyone is very friendly. I ordered one of the pizzas and it was the best ever.,Husband order chicken parm and it was great. I will be...making this one of my favorite to go to places and tell friends to try.More
We have had yearly gatherings at the restaurant and have always found the staff friendly, accommodating and efficient. The helpings are not only delicious but substantial. I could not stay the entire evening so I ordered an appetizer of mussels. The dish was so large...that I thought I had received a main course version. I had to scoop up the accompanying tomato sauce with the whole wheat bread. YUM. Everyone else raved about their meals.More
Great Italian Resto!! Awesome people, great food and service!!! Coming here for years and it never disappoints. Family dinners and friend get togethers, are always fun. Pizza is amazing!!!
This was my Go-to restaurant to bring friends and family. Now that I have moved to a different neighborhood, I rarely get there, but when I do - it is the same excellent service as it has always been! So this Sunday night my friend...and I drove down from Leaside to have dinner around 7pm and saw that their were a few people standing in the doorway waiting. "Oh nooo" then I see that they all have a little snack while they are waiting! The owner himself had come out and brought bruschetta! The veal marsalla is amazing, Caesar salad is great for two, the shrimp past had 7 or 8 huge shrimp on it. A bottle of Masi is only $35 and then there is Cathy! Such an amazing lady. She has been there forever and is funny and very accommodating! You are treated like family there! Last summer I brought my Cousin's there and we sat on the patio. We were treated like Queens! They brought us an ice bucket for the wine, split salads for us.. and we were 4 very strong ladies that wanted half this and share that, etc. A lot of laughs with the staff and food was amazing! Love this place! And the staff!More
We sat at the outside table and had to wait for it to became available, but there was plenty of sitting inside and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. The see food pasta (daily special) was excellent, and the arugula pizza was very yummy. Thin...crust, and well done, just the way I like itMore
