This is a longtime neighbourhood restaurant that serves unpretentious hearty Hungarian fare. Specialty appears to be various styles of schnitzel, all of them delicious served with potatoes or dumplings plus a side of coleslaw or beets. There's a lunch menu as well as the regular...More

I used to live in this area when I lived in Toronto and this was my second favorite Hungarian resto. (My favorite went out of business decades ago). The street used to be lined with Hungarian restaurants back in the day but now I think...More

The last Hungarian restaurant in this neighbourhood, where there used to many to choose from. Thankfully it's great! The schnitzel is classic, we had dumplings with it and then we split a walnut palacsinta for dessert, yummmmm! I haven't had the 'platter for two' here...More

It is the only Hungarian restaurant left on Bloor St West (between Spadina and Bathurst). Delicious, authentic food, large portions, reasonable prices and service with a smile.

the food was simple but excellent and served in huge portions so that one platter for 2 provided enough for 4 of us with little side orders of cucumber salad and yummy desserts

This restaurant has been around for ages. Unlike many Hungarian restaurants which were operating in Toronto in about 1975, this one continues to operate. I can think of two that were formerly on Yonge Street, one large one on Bay Street and a high-end one...More

Went for dinner last night, as usual food was great. Good Hungarian home cooking. They had renovated and it looks much nicer. Ordered the wooden plate for two, and noticed that it was missing the pork chops that used to come with it. I was...More

Where else am I going to get a schnitzel that obscures the plate and a bottle of Egri Bikavér (Bulls Blood)? It's true I've been coming to Country Style Hungarian Restaurant since I was a UofT undergraduate in the 70s. Back in the last century...More

The restaurant is small but spacious enough. Good menu selection of Hungarian favorites, reasonably priced and fresh. Most of the staff were directly from Hungary. The taste was right on!
