Had a terrific meal this evening with my husband. I had the fish and chips and as someone who has eaten this meal several times in the UK, I am fussy! Not only was the piece of fish huge, the batter was perfect! The tarter sauce had a really nice slightly spicy tang to it and the chips were also... More

The pub is conveniently located next to hotels and entertainment venues in a beautiful historic building. The staff are very efficient and friendly. We made our first trip to the pub and returned two more times because the atmosphere, service and oh yes the food was great. Prices are reasonable as well. This is a place worth trying out.

Myself and a friend went here for a bit to eat before the Toronto Cavalcade Lights event. The place was busy, but we got seated sooner than expected and the service was great. Very attentive. Cheers.

Great drinks and English style pub food. Friendly staff and drink choices. Right next to the theatres so a great place to go before a show, but it will be busy. The bar was pretty free and just as good! Yummy nachos and poutine options.

Visited tonight and ordered the Butter Chicken. Chicken was in a separate dish and when I went to pour in on the rice, it was like "Where's the chicken?". There were about six pieces of chicken the size of a Cheerio and I could place all in a tablespoon. I called the waitress over to complain and she did not... More

We have been in this restaurant chain twice in San Diego and San Francisco. The food was delicious with a good price. This time in Toronto, we went for coffee in their King Street West branch. The atmosphere is perfect. But the best was to meet Opal the usher. You must go there and meet her . She is extremely... More

Went for dinner on a Saturday night when we were in Toronto for a dance competition. This restaurant was a nice 10-minute walk from our hotel (the Sheraton) and is in the heart of the theatre district. Service was prompt and friendly. They have many imported and domestic beers available on draught - I had a pint of Steamwhistle that... More

Been to E&C many times over the years and it's always good. It's a huge pub so it can easily accommodate large groups and they don't have to close the place the way a small pub would. There are two main bar areas at the front and back, lots of beers on tap and the usual pub fare. Lots of... More

Went here in October for a nice meal. Food was very nice, service was great. It was good value for money. Starter wings was very small and not really for sharing

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
