This review is for the caeteria on the concourse level....not the restaurant on the upper floor of the store.I dropped by here for a brunch-time meal. I chose the Cottage pie which was a flavourful mixture of puff pastry, mashed potatoes and nicely-seasoned ground meat. With a bottle of water my bill came to around $16. Prepared items all look... Service is impeccable, great presentation. Servers know the wine and a total quality experience. I have been here several times. I try to come weekly even if it's just for a drink. Nice respite from the hustle and bustle of Yorkville.

We happened to be at the Holt Renfrew store at the Jo Malone shop and walked by a spot I hadn't seen before. It only opened in October. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and very helpful. We were looking for a light lunch and the menu gave us what we needed. We split the black bean salad which contains quinoa,... More

Always a winner, this long standing cafe keeps me surprised and delighted. I used to come for the open face sandwiches and I keep coming back for the rest of the menu now. The fried tomato salad is exceptional -- layers of flavor carefully constructed, attentive service, a lively room -- this space is my "go to" for lunch either... More

It is a good place for a lovely lunch but the prices are not always so friendly. Beautiful decor, also.

This is a great little spot to go to on a cold winter day for a usually reliable coffee and petit sandwich. You pay a premium for the brand, but beat the weather. As soon as I tasted the coffee today it was clear something was not right. I still taste the bitterness down my throat after just two sips.... More

Holt's Cafes in both Montreal and Toronto are delightful venues for lunch. Both have bright, airy rooms and deliver both excellent service and food. This weekend, my wife and I revisited the Toronto operation and were as usual delighted with our food - cured Arctic Char for my spouse, which she pronounced superb and a delicious Mushroom Soup and Duck... Yorkdale is one of the busiest malls in Toronto. Just had a wonderful dinner at the cafe located in Holt's Yorkdale location. Not only was dinner good better yet no lines and fast service. Eclectic menu. Not extensive but well balanced. When time is limited have a good meal and get on with your day or evening of shopping. Recommend... More

The food was great along with the service in this hip, ultra contemporary cafe in the Centre of great shopping. Open face sandwiches and chicken pot pie were delicious and light. Also a neat spot for an after work drink.

Located in one of Toronto's premiere shopping destinations on Toronto's "Mink Mile", Holt's Cafe is an excellent spot to relax after or mid-way through your shopping. If you happen to be accompanied by a man whose first love is not shopping (although there are many great men's departments) deposit him in the Cafe when he has reached his limit with... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
