East York includes a portion of old, industrial
Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it
boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and
gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere.
The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is
rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is
supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and
refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York

allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of
Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and
markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts.
East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian
food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of
solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science
center is a favored weekend stop.
