An unassuming but pleasant restaurant, where the people waiting on you aim to create a most pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Low background music so you can talk easily (important for my brother who wears hearing aids), a nice menu with delicious options. The Sardinian wine that was recommended was excellent, the homemade soup awesome. Our waiter listened... More

We wanted to enjoy some real Italian food to celebrate my son's birthday and found this restaurant in Little Italy. The menu has a wide variety of interesting Italian dishes. The food was very well prepared. The servers were friendly and attentive. Portions were quite generous but not ridiculously so. Prices were reasonable. Definitely a restaurant I will visit again.

We stumbled across this place in Little Italy and I couldn't be more pleased we did. It was brilliant! Quirky menu. We had complementary focaccia to start which was very tasty, followed by sweet potato gnocchi and slow cooked lamb risotto which were both lovely! Highly recommend!

Mid-week dinner during a fabulous week in Toronto. Drove here in hired car and were fortunate enough to find a place outside. Waiter advised us of local regulations (it has been 20 years since we were on College) and we relaxed into a lovely meal. Good antipasto and very good risotto were the stand-outs of a lovely dinner. Very professional... More

This looks like an old stuffy Italian restaurant, but it isn't. Nick, who has been running the place for at least a decade is as "with it" as is necessary. He will adapt any dish to whatever you require. Yes, there are many traditional Italian items on the menu and they are fine; well honed in their preparation. We had... More

We walked to Little Italy to have a nice Italian meal. We saw this restaurant after walking the streets and the menu hit us. We continued walking to check out other restaurants but came back to La Forchetta. The restaurant is visually charming, they play appropriate music for dining and the menu is inviting! They also have a 2 or... More

You'll find the hospitality of professional waiters, the love of fresh ingredients of the chef, the Italian taste for interior decoration (no red - green - white flags or wine bottles). Follows the food : delicious bread, which I'm sure was home-made, mussels better than in Belgium, well seasoned sausage they don't even do in Italy .... An mouth -watering... More

We went over to Little Italy for dinner, as we are Italy-loving Belgians. We selected this restaurant for its attractive and authentic menu and for the fact that it offers daily specials. This usually means the chef loves his job and works with fresh ingredients From the moment we entered we felt at ease. We both had An aperitif, a... More

My friend and I went here on a whim and it was the most amazing food we have had. I have been to Italy before and his mother makes authentic wonderful Italian food. This did not disappoint at all. I had the Rigatoni Bolognese and he had the spaghetti. We both could not say enough good things about the dish.... More

La Forchetta Ristorante is a true find for those times when you want a single meal to make you feel like you’ve just been to Italy and back! Right from the start, slices of warm, crusty and crunchy Italian bread drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and lots of pungent rosemary sprigs made it almost impossible to leave... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
