What an elegant place to have any event. I so love this venue. There is so much to say about the serving staff the happiness that results from your event. Nothing compares.

Attended a function at La Maquette. Overall a very nice location. Great views from the windows. Food and drinks were good. Service was good. I'd go back.

I attended a wedding here. It was really nice. Swanky decor. The sculpture gardens are nice but I wouldn't call the slabs of concrete sculptures, or the overgrown vines a garden. Could be nicer. Homeless people do hang out on the benches during the day/night,...but are asked to leave for functions. Bardeners were slow. Line up out the door as guests arrived. My idea would be providing a welcome drink as guests walk in. Take pressure off the bar. Pop is in cans. I was given a jig (ounce measurer) to do a shot out of. Not a proper shot glass for guests to use. Food was really good. I didn't get any appetizers though. There is a lot of stairs. Keep this in mind for disabled people and seniors.More

This was the second time I've been to La Maquette; both times for private functions where the restaurant was closed and our group had the place to ourselves. Last night it was for a stand up cocktail reception where a small jazz band played as...servers walked around with delicious appetizers like duck confit canapes, asian fresh rolls, shrimp on a stick, bite size mini fish and chips, sliders and more. Everything was delicious!! Including the homemade desserts which included whimsical colorfully decorated cake pops and the most delicious mini cream puffs I have ever tasted in my life. Three years ago, I attended a September wedding here. The couple got married out on the patio, followed by appetizers and drinks on the main floor and then a sit down dinner upstairs. Everything was to perfection then as well. This is a great restaurant and I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try just for dinner based on the experiences I've had in the past with large groups. I live in downtown Toronto a very short walking distance from La Maquette. The restaurant is across the street from St. Jame Cathedral. It is often reserved , it is not open to the public. for weddings and other special events. When there is a...special event. I do not go to La Maquette often because it seems to be closed to the public far more often than it is open. La Maquette has two floors. The top floor is nicely sunny during the day. The bottom floor tends to be dark even during the day except for two window tables. The food is good but not excellent. The service is good . The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food.More

The environment is classy and romantic. There was live music on Valentines Day. The service is very good and there are different options for wine.

The environment is ok. But we were surprised that they would charge for additional bread. Since one basket for two people, it should be ok for four people to have another round. Further, the lobster dish contained a decent amount of lobsters, but it did...not taste fresh. We would do a much better job at home for cooking our own lobster dishes. The lady who served us was not very friendly, but we still left a big tip because we did not want others to think that Asian people would not leave good tips.More

I mentioned to Ange, the owner that I was going to propose On the evening of the dinner! Well, she had a special table set up with a plate that said in chocolate, will you marry me? Omit, with the ring in a glass of...champagne in the center! Dinner was awesome and the staff and the service was exceptional! We will surely be back! Sincerely, Jeff & BingmayMore

this is still an amazing restaurant. The ambience, food and service cannot be beaten. We used to come here but for some reason have not done so recently. A big mistake that we will amend. as recent converts to vegetarian eating, it was fantastic to...have a fine dining and not just some pasta in a salt sauce. The veggie wellington and wild mushroom appetizer were out of this world, The owner was very accommodating as my wife is concerned about salt. We learned from our server that there as a caution given at the staff meeting. They also offered great wine pairing suggestions. Our waiter was unsure about something and went to ask the sommelier. The live guitar music in the background added to the atmosphere. A great Valentines, thanks to all staffMore

A long overdue review of our Summerlicious dinner at La Maquette. First, have to say that to have a dinner at this lovely restaurant with 3 courses for 45 bucks is pretty awesome. Second, to have two lobster tails as the main as a part...of that is even more amazing. We had a delicious dinner at La Maquette, very nice restaurant and service was excellent. The only issue we had was that they had sold out of the wine we ordered so the bottle they wanted to give us as a substitute still wasn't chilled - wasn't even that big of a deal. Would return for another meal for sure.More

Loved the place! I've been to Summer- and Winterlicious quote a bit, some restos treat you like second hand customer, but not at La Maquette. Menu was very good, food - no complaints, atmosphere , music, service ... we had a great time. Planning on...coming back for the regular dinner.More

Discovered La Maquette through Winterlicious and were accomodated with a lovely window seat in the upstairs solarium overlooking the sculpture garden - this without making a reservation - although it was a Wednesday lunch. Beautiful ambience with white tablecloths, art, French bistro and jazz music...playing. An air of casual elegance. For dinner you would need to book in advance for this table. Our server was pleasant and aware we had only one hour or else our car parked below would be towed (no kidding here) so we dined from 2-3pm. Enjoyed the flavourful lamb chops, mashed potatoes and root vegetables. No Gluten Free pasta or Creme Brulee but my beau enjoyed his carrot cake and we took mine to go (for him). Lovely mid-week dining experience. Would like to come back in the summer and try the patio.More
