La Vecchia used to be one of my favourite restaurants. I hadn't been for a while and decided to choose it for a family birthday celebration. We were a table of 5 with the 5th placed in the aisle at the mercy of all those walking by and waiting at the bar. We were literally packed in like sardines, so... More

Our job has taken us around the world and we've enjoyed many a terrific meal, including in several Michelin-starred restaurants. But it's always great to have a restaurant where you know the food quality will be consistently excellent, the service gracious and friendly, and the ambiance just so. That is La Vecchia, where we have enjoyed a meal as a... More

How do you know a restaurant is good? The same chef, Aurora, has worked there for 22 years. Great ambience as a result of the stone and stucco walls, excellent food & wine selection, creative presentations and of course, exceptional taste! Complimenting the Italian atmosphere, they consistently hire Italian speaking waiters who are extremely attentive and knowledgeable. Reservations recommended as... More

My fiance and I visited La Vecchia on Friday 3rd March for dinner,we were pleasantly surprised by excellent service we received from the moment we arrived and throughout our dinner. The food was amazing and recommendations for our food, wine and desert by our waiter were on point. The ambiance of this restaurant is really lovely. We definitely will be... More

This restaurant is located in the Yonge and Eglinton area. I had never heard of it before, but what a surprise it was. The decor was light and airy with an Italian flair and the service was good. I was there for lunch and the food was very good. I had one of the lunch special menu items which consisted... More

Brought my wife here for Valentine's day and it did wonders for my marriage! Our food was fantastic, and the service was top notch, especially considering how busy it was. This place has the kind of intimate atmosphere you associate with traditional Italian cuisine, we can't wait to come back!

This is a very cosy feel very accessible place but it disappoints totally in terms of food . How hard is it to cook a half decent homemade pasta with simple sauces for which they have none? they have frozen pasta and frozen sauce. Disappointing that our area can't support something half decent .

My boyfriend took me for Valentine's Day, and has been raving about it for quite awhile. I'm a big fan of Grazie (right down the street) but he kept insisting how great this place was so he made a reservation. I always check out the menu in advance and kind of pre- chose what I was going to order, only... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
