About
Le Papillon on Front is located in the heart of Old Town Toronto. Inside of a beautiful Old Town Toronto building with exposed brick walls and high lofty ceilings sits the beautiful venue for Le Papillon on Front. It's exposed brick is complemented well by the aged hardwood floor and perfectly soft lighting. The venue suggests a lovely mix of romance, comfort, and of course, the classic French bistro atmosphere that has followed Le Papillon to all of its locations. In the warmer months Le Papillon on Front even creeps its way onto Front street, giving a beautiful view of the Flatiron building as well as the CN tower in the distance. With a closed in patio adorned with wonderfully arranged planters

I had a reservation - early dinner. Treated very badly. Expensive, not great food. But great service! If you have had the experience of being offered the worst tables so that the place can rid of those tables early, you will know what I mean....The first two tables we turned down were never filled - the four tops we asked for (for two diners) were filled with two’s after we sat down. The food is not great quality. Pretty utilitarian furnishings (looks better when it is dark). Our server, however, was outstanding. This is a straight tourist place. We lived in this neighbourhood for years and just moved back. Hard to get a reservation in December, but I was able to get a reservation here (as it turns out, not surprising!). I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. It is an expensive tourist place. Toronto is full of great restaurants. Tourists should spend their money somewhere else. People who live in the neighbourhood don’t eat here.More

Nice atmosphere inside and friendly staff, ordered soup of day (Cream of broccoli) and crepe with beef bourguignon => the soup was pleasant, little bit on milky side, but beef was over salted in my taste

Worst French meal I’ve ever had. First I had the Poulet en Peche, which was tough and the “sauce” watery. The very attentive waiter voided the charge and brought me my second choice:a crepe with bacon, apples, and cheddar. That was my first ever crepe...without any sauce whatsoever. They need to go back to the drawing board with their recipes. Go anywhere else for a French meal.More

This is our 3rd dining experience . Our last was 8months ago and we wanted to try again . Although our waiter was excellent . They did not have two of our wine selections. Sold out. I ordered beef bourguignon and it was very dry.... The rice was Al Dente and lacked flavour I asked for a coffee and they said they have run out of cream . My husband asked for a cappuccino and they said their machine is broken . It was broken our last visit . 8 months ago ?? The plating of the food is vey boring. I’m so disappointed .More

Not bad, food was correct. Service was excellent. Though for what it is, the prices are quite high sadly. All in all, good food though quite a bit pricier than what it should.

My husband and I loved everything about this restaurant. It is quiet, the decor is tasteful, the server was attentive, efficient and pleasant, and , most importantly, the food was excellent.

The restaurant offers an excellent menu, great service, and a truly French relaxing ambiance. We chose a red “Les Jumelles” to go with the boeuf bourguignon and the smoke duck breast, and it turned out to be an exquisite combination. The food looked delicious and...was delicious from the beginning to the end. The desserts, we tried crème brûlée and chocolate cake, are to die for. The best chocolate cake I had the pleasure to try in Toronto. A great place for sharing a meal with friends or for a business gathering, just downtown Toronto. Great value for money.More

This was our first visit to this restaurant post-Covid. We used to come here frequently for lunch and always enjoyed the various crepes, which are a restaurant specialty. However the restaurant is no longer open for lunch, so this time, for dinner, we opted for...the bouillabaisse and the steak frites. Both were delicious. A big plus was being served by Roland. He was very helpful in describing the food and wine selections, did an excellent job in preparing our cocktails, and in all respects attended us with friendliness and professionalism. The restaurant deserves 5 stars, and part of making it a 5 star rating was due to Roland's service!More

A serendipitous find at the end of a long day. A French Martini to start, escargots, cassoulet, and chocolate lava cake with Armagnac. Great food, great service and great atmosphere.

We wandered down Front St looking for a bite to eat and found this amazing French gem. I had the smoked duck, my husband had the cassoulet, both were delicious. Great service, yummy food- our new favourite Toronto restaurant. Next time we visit, we’ll be...back!More

Well I would be honest I was very disappointed with the food at this restaurant. We ordered tuna tartare, Bouillabaisse, Tourtiere Maison and steak and fries. Bouillabaisse Was complete disappointment: fish was so dry, scallops over cooked that you can. It chew it at all,...no mussels!!!! Steak was absolutely not eatable, chewy not tender. Tourtiere Maison was fine but they served it with cold mashed potato and tuna tartare was pretty much that you can expect from fresh Tuna but nothing special. That was our first time there and definitely last one. We also ordered the tea that they just forget to serve. So definitely north worse the money. For $150 I can find something so much better. I did like the interior but maybe only for glass of wine, not place to eat. I read so many good reviews and I was completely disappointed.More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the service was very good. We started with an order of escargots and our entrees were the grilled salmon and poult a la peche and for dessert we shared pouding chomeur. All the dishes were delicious although the chicken...and peaches was our favorite - amazing! We highly would recommend a visit to Le Papillon.More
