We made a reservation about two weeks earlier. We showed up and it seemed like they had some trouble finding us a table. Nevertheless we were seated in about 5-10 mins. The table that we were seated at was very unstable and we asked to be moved. The waiter told us we could not move since all of the other... More

It was Saturday night, 5:30 and we could not get a reservation on line, so we popped in and asked the hostess if they had a table. She found one! (Next time we will make reservations ahead!) I had the grilled seafood platter (comes with fresh grilled asparagus)... superb salmon, shrimp and crab. My husband had the filet mignon and... More

We had a small company dinner - 12 people. Delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere. I was shocked however by the markup on the wine list. It may not be their fault...totally,...but !!! I enjoyed the prettily presented avocado and tuna tower, the lamb rack and the steaming....shrimps.

I like this chain, I have been to a couple of others and they are always consistent. The steaks are excellent sides very solid everything you want from a steak place, what lets this place down is the staff. From the check in staff to the waiters they are clueless and its such a shame as the food is actually... More

Amazing service and great food. All round good experience, went for anniversary and restaurant made up a special menu which was a nice idea for a keepsake. Did meet a notable person there. Would go again but only for a special occasion as the restaurant is very pricey. Ordered a bottle of wine and Bill was about 400.00 without tip.

You should go eat there if you want to order mediocre food, at expensive prices with terrible service. I am very disappointed with my experience. We went for a friend's 30th birthday and were served by Dormer. We had over 20+ people. For the prices we paid, I expected a lot more. I wanted to order a salad after all... More

Where else can you go to have a $12 potato? A martini will set you back $25. Well, who cares if it is on your expense account, which describes most oft he patrons here.

I went to Morton's for my birthday as a group of 7 people. The food and service was excellent. The best jumbo shrimp cocktail that I ever had. The chicago style bone in ribeye and t-bone was done to perfection. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I highly recommend Morton's Steakhouse Toronto.

This is old school steakhouse at its best. Big steaks, big wine list, silly size portions and all of it executed well. And, just to make sure you don't think you are walking into a museum they DO have female waitresses, the place had a makeover recently and the room looks brand spanking new and it is ALWAYS packed which... I've come here for 3 straight birthday's and I always look forward to it. I have tried many steakhouses throughout the city (new and old) and the steaks here are by far the best, and not as expensive as some higher end (trendy) places. The menu has a lot of options for everyone but the steak is where it's at.... More

I had the same issue once, but re-read the agreement which states:

"Membership card does not need to be presented to earn points or redeem rewards. In lieu of the membership card, members may provide the phone number identified in their account registration to earn points at the time of purchase. If Rewards are being redeemed, member will also be required to show valid ID. Only the member to whom the membership card is issued may earn points or redeem Rewards. The member must be paying for the food and beverage to earn points. Membership cards are issued to individuals only, not businesses or other entities or groups. Club points are not redeemable for cash and are non-transferable."

Most recently, it happened at a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant (Joe's Stone Crab) that has a similar program. The manager explained that anyone could amass tons of rewards just by telling friends to 'use their card'. Their intent is to get people to sign up themselves, not load up individual cards. And they further explained it's for my protection too since anyone that knows my phone number could say "look up my rewards" and I'd be out that money.

Someone was just recently fired from the location I visited because of this policy, so it shows how serious all these companies are (not just Landry's). Apparently the server inadvertently added all the rewards to the check, even though the diners paid by 'credit card roulette'. This is where the server picks a card from under a napkin to see who gets to pay the bill.

It's like any user agreement, there are rules. Don't make a server or manager lose their livelihood just because you don't want to abide by them.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
