While the food is very good, on this occasion the presentation for the sea bass was almost identical to the halibut. If you are dining with someone and tend to share should a $50 fish item last the same as another? I don't think so. Disappointing. And even more so that the manager could care less about customers comments -... More

New year eve dinner. Nice atmosphere, the sarvice was lacking at times. I had the steak tartare, which generaly it's one of my favorites. Here definately wasn't for a 4-5 star restaurant. I ordered the lamb chops medium rare specifically asked for to be cooked more on the rare side. When i got it, cut into it, it was well... More

This is a high end restaurant. I've never had a bad meal here. However, some better than others. Service is generally good, they tend to focus on the regulars. At times you get the impression that people are there to be seen, the food Is secondary. Good wine selections. This is a pricey restaurant.

North 44 has great food, the portions are extremely small but very pricey. I will return but it will be on a special occasion. I don't mind spending money on good food, however I left North 44 hungry. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my husband had the pouched lobster. Both dished were SCRUMPTIOUS! The lemon tart was a... Attentive service and delightful ambience abound at George. Pasta was the highlight. The restaurant was lovely and the food was good but I think George, gaging from the age of the clientele and the menu itself might be of another era .

I asked my wife where she wanted to go for dinner on her birthday. She suggested North 44. In my mind I said, "Expensive dinner for small portions" but I agreed and booked for a Saturday night. We were seven in total. Well, this dinner could not have been more perfect. We were early but our attendant took us to... More

The meal was exceptional, we had the branzino and the veal steak which were both fantastic. Service was also fantastic. Would definitely go back.

Had dinner here recently with some friends. The girls had the tenderloin which was excellent, I had the dover sole which was very firm and quite delicious. We brought our own wine, really good stuff not plonk, and the wine service was a bit slow. Had to ask to have the two California cabs decanted. It was interesting in that... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
